I purchased my Santa Fe in '05 after driving a Toyota Celica GTS for several years.  I wanted something large enough to start a family and something that was roomy.  The Santa Fe has a surprising amount of leg room for back passengers and is a comfortable ride.  I love that it comes standard with power everything, a cd player, ShiftTronic, etc.  The Santa Fe is also pretty affordable, especially if you pick up one used!  I purchased mine 2 yrs old w/ low miles for nearly half of what it costs new.  Trade in is horrible though!  My Santa Fe picks up a lot of road noise and is a pretty wussy v6 (esp. compared to my sportscar), and starts to shake when I get above 70mph.  The Santa Fe is definitely not a true sport utility vehicle, but it is safe and comforable.  Overall I am happy with my purchase and would recommend to anyone wanting an affordable family vehicle.
