Hyundai Elantra - 2004 Reviews

I love my little metallic green Elantra! I have had it for 3 years and accumulated over 115,000 miles with it and still been fortunate enough to require no repairs besides maintenance. For a $10,000 car it has well surpassed my every expectation! I was particularly thankful for the extensive 100,000 mile warranty, although I really did not need it, it made me feel secure in case anything did happen. The only problem I have had with the car involves a glitch in the airbag indicator light which was fixed via a recall notice. I purchansed this car brand new in 2004.  Not long after I got it and started to drive it regularly I noticed a strange and ANNOYING rattle coming from somewhere in the middle of the dashboard.  It was hard to pinpoint where the sound was coming from.  I took it to the dealership and they had a hard time too.  We finally realized that the defroster vents fit loosely in the dash.  The dealership claimed they tried to make it stop but it hasn't.  There is also a rattle sometimes in my passenger door.  I can't stand all the little sounds!  If you're… read full review »

its only 3 years old but i already had to change the alternator twice, from what i understand the electrical systems on hyundais arent all its cracked up to be. other than that its okay but now Im always worried when the next time i will break down. The 04 Elantra GT was the most car I could find for under 14K.  Anti-lock brakes, sunroof, Kenwood radio system, fog lights, and power everything were the selling points.  It's a peppy little car but won't win any drag races.  Secure handling with traction control makes this car a pleasure to drive even in New England Winters.  It was built with comfrt in mind, too.  Everything is within easy… read full review »
