Hunter Quiet Flow True Hepa Replacement Filter —

Quiet Flo True Hepa Replacement Filters (model 30940) are designed to clean the air for a year, but these replacement filters run about $35 at Lowe's and must be replaced about once a year with normal continuous use.

Hunter claims that these hepa filters capture "99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns in size, from air that passes through the filter." They are recommended for filtering allergens such as:

  • smoke
  • pollen
  • dust
  • mold spores
  • pet dander
  • other allergens

These are easy to replace, and the packaging lists the various models that these replacement filters will fit. This product is made in Mexico.

My Viewpoint:

If you invest in an air purifier, it will only filter the air properly if the main hepa filter and carbon pre-filters are changed regularly. This Hunter Quiet Flow True Hepa Replacement Filter is a big investment, but since four of us have asthma at our house, it is worth the money to have everyone breathing much better.

I feel for you if you and your husband have asthma. Ours have really helped us. Sometimes you might find one at Good Will or The Salvation Army, but the replacement filters are still an investment. Sometimes you can get out of paying full price for one of these, but for us it's been worth the price we paid.

Thanks, Katrena, for the informative review. The best line was "it is worth the money to have everyone breathing much better". My husband and I have asthma, and I have the fibromyalgia "twitchy" nose. I hope this filter comes in a size that will fit our HVAC. It sounds like what we need.
