When I bought this humidifier, I had a two year-old with an ear infection and a baby with RSV. They had separate rooms, so I needed two humidifiers to ensure they could both breathe at night without their symptoms getting worse. The first humidifier we owned got really moldy, really fast, so we decided we wanted to avoid that type of humidifier. My husband went to our local Wal-Mart and saw this one that had a large tank volume and claimed to be "care-free." Obviously we grabbed that one because we wanted something that wasn't as susceptible to getting mold in it. The humidifier performed really well for a few weeks of use. I couldn't visualize the output, but my babies were doing fine, so I assumed it was okay. Turns out the volume of steam into the air wasn't even that great, but it did a good enough job to help ease the children's suffering. My huge complaint with this humidifier is that there is a large cardboard-like, porous filter inside the body of the humidifier, which gets moldy itself, and cannot be replaced. We even tried calling the manufacturer and they said it wasn't made anymore. I was very frustrated because I spent extra money to have a low-maintenance humidifier when I couldn't even buy replacement parts!

This humidifier is fairly inexpensive as far as humidifiers go. Considering this.I think it is not a bad humidifier. It is easy to fill the resevoir with water. Because the resevoir is.in the front, it is also easy to monitor the water level. If you keep it on a flat area and out of the way so as not to get disturbed, you will have no issues. But if it gets bumped, knocked over, or if you tip it slightly while moving it, you will have a mess of water. It can be quite noisy. We had to move it from the living room where we preferred to keep it because it made it difficult to hear the television with out blaring it. I like that it has different levels for output. However the higher you turn the output, the louder the humidifier becomes.

We purchased this years ago and it still works just like it did when we bought it. It's kind of an odd shape which makes it a pain for me to find storage but I am so glad I have it when one of us get sick. It is a little loud and that makes it hard for me to sleep but when you are sick everything annoys you. Oddly enough my 4 year old likes the noise best it's soothing to her when she goes to sleep. So we now keep it in her room regularly. I used to get water all over the place when I would fill it that I would rather suffer than deal with filling it since I find that to be a huge pain, but my husband never has problems with spilling it so he's the one that uses it, I'm the one that has to put it away. Overall it has lasted a long time and it does the job. It has always been something that we never use that much just when we are sick, but now that my daughter is using it regularly I may look into getting her a pretty kid like one that looks cuter in her room. Durability I have dropped the fillable thing many times and it has been banged into things when I have tried to cram it into places for storage and it still works.
