Huggies Gentle Care Sensitive Baby Wipes Review

Let's talk for a moment about baby wipes--now, we all know what they are designed to do: clean our little one's bottoms. Yet who would have thought that baby wipes could be so different? Since my second son, Timothy, was born last November, I have plowed my way through a trove of baby wipes and discovered that I keep returning to Huggies Gentle Care Sensitive Baby Wipes quite frequently. Formulated for sensitive baby skin, these wipes are thick enough and strong enough to tackle some of the more frightening "jobs" in Timothy's diaper.

 Huggies brand products are often on sale at my local CVS, which keeps me buying them in large quantities. However, I am not one to skimp on quality for a decent price--I learned my lesson buying a lesser-known baby wipe that was thin and irritating on Timothy's skin. I appreciate the the Huggies Gentle Care Sensitive Baby Wipes are gentle and meant to cleanse sensitive skin without irritation. They are hypoallergenic, fragrance-free, and formulated without alcohol. If, like me, you have experimented with different baby wipes, I am sure you have encountered some of the more potent-smelling brands that feature heavy fragrances. I prefer using fragrance-free options for my little guy whenever possible, and Huggies Gentle Care Sensitive Baby Wipes allows me to clean him up without polluting his cute baby smell with chemical perfumes. The aloe and Vitamin E in each wipe keeps his skin smooth and soothes the area every time I wipe him down. I have used the wipes on his body as well, when he spills yogurt all over his legs, for example. He does have eczema and sensitive skin; I am happy to report that Huggies Gentle Care Sensitive Baby Wipes do not cause him to break out in a rash or annoy his eczema further.

Compared to other wipes, these are thick and quilted--each wipe feels more like a "cloth" rather than a thin, wet, "paper towel." They are not overly moist so if you must surmount a heinous, messy diaper, you may find yourself using a lot of wipes to clean the offending area. I am pleased to say that the wipes don't "fall in" the container as often as other wipes I've purchased--a godsend when you are confronting a disastrous mess. The wipes are packaged in a convenient tub that is refillable, which is great if you get a good deal on the refill pack. I just purchased the Mega-sized refill pack which includes 187 wipes. Using a $1.00 off coupon, I bought it for $6.99. At my CVS, I was able to get $2.00 Easy Care Bucks back as well, so it was as though I got the $7.99 retail package for $4.99. YAY! Huggies has coupons in our local Sunday paper on a regular basis; smart shopping will get you great deals on these wipes.

My only complaint about the wipes is that the cloth-like "fabric" leaves a bit of "stringy" residue on my boy's privates. They are small cotton "strings" that are basically minuscule but difficult for me to remove without wetting another cloth. The fibers are not long enough to catch or wrap around any digits or private parts; they are simply a nuisance. I've noticed that this situation doesn't always happen, but when it does, I find it irritating!

Overall, Huggies Gentle Care Sensitive Baby Wipes are a great go-to wipe when you need it. Baby wipes such as these are great for all sorts of jobs, including cleaning rubber stamps (which I do when I am crafting!). Thrifty parents and consumers will typically find these wipes at a decent deal. I would recommend these baby wipes for anyone who has to tackle messes on a daily basis--and I am sure that is most of the population! :)
