Even though my children are ages three and five, I still use baby wash to clean them during their bath times.  I've used several different brands and fragrances and have never disliked any of those products until I recently tried Huggies Extra Sensitive Baby Wash

I had no particular reason for buying this baby wash but I liked the idea that it is fragrance free and hypoallergenic.  I like to alternate the products that I use on my children and wanted something simple.  Right after opening the bottle, I noticed that it smelled horrible even though it's touted as a fragrance free product.  It reminded me of the smell of a brand new can of paint from the hardware store.

Despite being extremely turned off by the smell, I used the Huggies Extra Sensitive Baby Wash on both of my children.  It can be used to wash both their hair and their bodies so that's what I did.  The soap lathered up really well and did a good job of cleaning my kids.  Unfortunately, the paint-like smell still lingered on their hair after they were out of the bath and in their pajamas.  It was enough to make me nauseous.

I'm a frugal person and try my best to not waste anything so I was determined to continue using Huggies Extra Sensitive Baby Wash until the bottle was empty.  However, each time I used it, the smell really did make me sick.  I also missed the "clean" smell of my children after their baths.

My children did me a favor when they accidentally knocked over the bottle and more than half of it poured out into the bathtub.  That still leaves me with almost half of a bottle and I'm feeling guilty about tossing it out.  I'm considering using it to wash my dog but I love her too much to do that.  Needless to say, I am no longer using Huggies Extra Sensitive Baby Wash on my children.  I think I'll see if my husband wants to use it to wash his tools or some other manly stuff in the garage.

Unless you enjoy the smell of wet paint, I highly recommend that you avoid Huggies Extra Sensitive Baby Wash.  Your child (and possibly dog) will thank you for it.

You're absolutely right - one of the joys of parenting is hugging your kids when they smell so good! Thanks for reading and commenting on my review. :)
