We have stayed at all the offical Disney Hotel and this is better. Within walking distance, in fact it is closer to the parks than two of the disney hotels. A themed pool with squirting play area. This July they are opening a pirate ship pool designed by the people who designed Legoland Pirate Shores. A lot of rooms have skylights and views of the fireworks. After having some very serious health problems my husband and I were looking certainly looking foreward to this trip. The hotel had arranged for a car to pick us up at the airport and it was right there, no waiting. Upon check-in, we arrived early therefore our room wasn't available however the staff secured our luggage for us so we were able to go directly to Disneyland. After arriving back at the hotel, the check-in was efficient. The room was clean and large enough that we wern't stumbling over each other. We stayed at the the Howard Johnson Anaheim Hotel 6/25-29/06 while the front desk was being renovated. The front desk was being operated out of another building at the time which wasn't too inconvenient. The hotel is within less than 10 minutes walking distance to Disneyland entrance. Many restaurants down the road. I liked the fact that we had 2 double beds and an extra mirror and sink outside the bathroom. The only complaint I had were with the spring beds not being too comfortable. Hotel staff was very helpful in giving directions to the hotel, even after we got lost in California! Staff was very friendly and helpful. We were in a noisy room next to the freeway and they helped us into a different room that was much more quiet and comfortable, no questions asked. This hotel has 2 nice pools and one jacuzzi. I liked that I could use the computers in the lobby 24 hours a day. The rooms and whole hotel area were very clean. We were able to walk to the park within minutes. When we were tired, and wet from Splash Mountain, in the evening we took a quick cab ride to the hotel to change and back. It was very convenient. It was clean and the staff was friendly. Our bathroom was handicap ready, which meant the shower had no ledge. The water leaked onto the bathroom floor when we took a shower. Also, the counter consisted of a small metal shelf. It was about 6 X 18. This was way too small to be useful to us. The Howard Johnson was good value for your money. The rooms were comfortable, clean and a good size. It was a 10 minute walk to Disneyland, close enough that we came back to the hotel to swim in the afternoon and then walk back to the park after dinner. The kids really enjoyed the pool area and the arcade. There is a mini mart in the hotel which is very handy for snacks and items that you may have forgotten. There was a McDonalds on your way to the park and many other restaurants near by. The Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel was pretty decent. For the price, it is in a great location relative to Disneyland, and there's multiple restaurants within walking distance. The hotel check-in/out staff are very friendly, professional, and efficient. The only problem I had was that I was in a 5th floor room in the tower adjacent to the freeway, and it was really loud. I was able to fall asleep because it's a droning noise, and I'm not that sensitive to noise, but those who are might find those rooms unacceptable. The Howard Johnson was so nice. We were delighted at the location to Disneyland. It was a pleasant walk to Disneyland/Disneyland Dowtown. Was able to see the fireworks from the big pool area.. It had a laundry room, was able to pack light and do a load of laundry. Great plus!!! It was so quiet- got a great night sleep. Call me silly, but the front desk assoicates were so friendly and helpful. They always had a smile for us!!! Great plus in the customer service. Howard Johnson Hotel was clean, comfortable, and also had a mini fridge that was great!!! This hotel also had internet options and the wake up call, you can set yourself on the telephone instead of having an operator call you. The Hotel Directory book had all the info i needed for phone information to Disneyland.......and when i called Disneyland they were very helpful over the phone as well. You can't beat the great locaiton of the Howard Johnson Plaza Resort. We walked to the fornt gates of Disneyland in less than 10 minutes. There's all kinds of restaurants along the way as well, such as Mimi's, Denny's, McDonald's & IHOP, so it's easy to eat breakfast along hte way befire you enter Disney's parks. We stayed towards the back of the hotel that had it's own prviate pool and was very quiet. The Howard Johnsons hotel was very comfortable and located in just the right location as we went to Disneyland. The staff was friendly and accomodating, gift shop was open late and had just what I needed, the pool area was wonderful, warm and friendly. Many restaraunts were close by, Mimi's just across the street with great food, and a convenient shuttle to take us to Disneyland and Downtown Disney. Very happy birthday for my little girl. The Howard Johnson Anaheim was a comfortable room that had 2 queen beds, a table and chairs. For the amount of time spent there when not at Disneyland it was perfect. Great location to Disneyland with about a 10 minute walk. Staff at the hotel were great when I requested a late check out as one of my daughters was ill. No problems encountered. We ate at the restaurannt located next to the hotel "Mimmie's Cafe". Good- Very helpful staff, excellent house keeping, clean pools, walking distance to Disneyland. Check the building layout if highway noise bothers you. Large rooms, excellent resturant across the street. Bad- Some rooms need maintenance. Ceiling stains, painting in bathrooms, re-cocking the tub, ect. Matresses can be very soft, and should be replaced. The roll away cot in our room was sagged 4-6" before anyone got in it. Overall- We like the hotel and would stay again.
