How I met your mother is a truly funny show!  The concept is a good one, a man is telling his kids the story of how he first met their mother and every week the story unfolds a bit more.  Every season you learn a bit more and try to guess who it will be and every season they throw you for a loop.  Will we ever find out who she is and how they met?  I'll keep watching to find out, you should too.

Here is a comedy about life.  Very similar to the idea of Friends, we have a group of adults experiencing life with the support of each other.  Each of the 5 characters have wonderfully charming attributes that makes you fall in love with them immediately.  Of course they all have their trials and tribulations, but without those, we wouldn't have a show now would we.  The main idea of the show is very similar to a "Who dunnit".  How I met your Mother is you, the viewer, trying to piece together who the Mother of Ted's kids is.  In the start of every show and through out it, Ted is telling... review »

How I Met Your Mother is honestly one of my favorite shows ever. Ranked up there with Friends and Gilmore Girls. The writing is clever and the actors have wonderful repertoire with one another. Neil Patrick Harris made his comeback ten-fold with is portrayal of Barney, a ladies man that now is in love with his best friend's ex-girlfriend and roommate. Alison Hannigan and Jason Segel make the perfect couple! I definitely recommend this show to everyone, it offers plenty of laughs and heart!

How I met your Mother

I started watching this show the first season it was on and i haven't missed an episode since. It comes on CBS on monday nights and now will be airing at 7 pm central. The stars are lilly who was also in one of my other favorite tv series, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and from the American Pie fame. In addition it was a great outlet to reintroduce fans to Doogie Howser MD all grown up, dressed in a 3 piece suit and all about the "Bro's" . He stars in this show as a womanizer looking for all the wrong things but super successful Barney.

This show is a smart comedy that showcases...

I've watched this show since it started and love it. The first season, where Ted chases Robin, was by far the best, but Season 2 and 3 have been great as well. I think the rest of the characters have definitely got more interesting as the show has gotten older, especially Barney and Marshall with the slap sub-plot, which has helped make less-Ted centric.

Still the whole point of the show is Ted finding his wife and since he broke up with Robin it's kind of slowed down. I feel like you need this whatever period in his life so it's not too idealistic and I am sure it's all connected, but it seems...

This is a show that my now-husband introduced me to when we first started dating.  I had seen it on t.v. before, but never got into it.  Once you understand the basic premise that the entire show is taken place in flash backs, it's incredibly easy to follow and just a joy to watch. We look forward to it every Monday evening.  It's the only show that we really missed during the writer's strike!

All of the characters are very well developed.  Ted is the loveable guy, that my husband says he can relate to -- the hopeless romantic looking for love. (It definitely helps knowing that he ends up...

How I met your Mother started out as a funny, smart comedy.  The "hook" is that the main character starts each episode out talking to his two children.  He is telling them how he met their mother.  In the first two seasons, this was cute, but it is just stupid now!  Basically this show revolves around Ted, an architect who lives in New York, and his friends.  Marshall has been his friend since college, and they have lived in the same appartment for most of the show.  Marshall is married to Lily, who is an artist/kindergarten teacher.  In my opinion, this is the only redeaming relationship...

I didn't watch the first season of this show.  I don't know why.  I just didn't.  I started watching during the second season.  Now I'm hooked.  I DVR it every week and watch religiously.  The "family" dynamics between the five characters is awesome.  Every week they come up with something new and entertaining.  It's never, ever a dull show.  Of course Barney is my favorite character.  He is so funny!  Yes, he is a total womanizer, but in a funny way.  Not offending in the slightest.

And, like everyone who watches, I too want to know who is the mother???  Yes.  I thought it was...

How I met your mother is the greatest comedy on tv right now.  The show has constant knee slapping humor.  My favorite thing is when websites are mentioned on the show, they typically exist, and when you check them out they deal with the show.  I love how every show relates to the previous show, and there is always a surprise on what happens by the end of the season.

During the show, you are trying to figure out who the mother is of Ted's children.  You follow the friends through the years and try to follow who he ends up with.  When you think you have it figured out, something changes and...

How I Met Your Mother is the best new ensemble comedy since Friends.  I look forward to Mondays because of this fantastic show.  I would have to say that Barney is my favorite.  I love all the "sayings" he comes up with.  They crack me up.  For a while I thought their mother was Robin, then Stella, now I just want to know How He Met Their Mother and who she is.  I guess I will just have to keep on watching.

Originally I was turned off by the pilot, but tried it again the next week and have never looked back.  I think that it keeps getting better each week.  Can't wait to see how they...

How I Met Your Mother is the best sitcom currently on television.  It's got a great ensemble cast and it's hilarious.  HIMYM has all the elements for a great sitcom.

It's fun and interesting waiting to see who will be the Mother but it's not something to sweat over.  It's much more fun watching Ted, Robin, Barney, Lily and Marshall share life's journeys.  A great entertaining buddy show!

Neil Patrick Harris (as Barney) is a constant scene stealer and he couldn't be any funnier.  What a great character.  He's truly "legen (wait for it) dary"

Can't think of a better group of actors to play these...

Seasons 1 & 2 on DVD make a great gift for someone else or for your own house.  I originally bought season 1 for a friend and ended up borrowing it to watch the whole season myself.  It was laugh out out loud funny in some parts and entertaining throughout the whole season. Season 2 is also very funny with many, many unexpected funny moments.   The cast is a great ensemble and the writing is excellent.  I haven't seen much of season 3 on tv this year, but hope to rent or purchase in the future as I would expect it to be as funny if not funnier than the previous 2 season.  The epidsode "slap... review »

I'm not much one for sitcoms, but How I Met Your Mother has a rare spot in my weekly rotation. While the overarching narrative structure (each episode is presented as a story the main character Ted tells his circa-2030 children about the path his life took to lead him up to meeting their mother) is kind of cheesy, the writing is fresh and timely, avoiding most the gimmicks of other comedies. The show is witty, incorporating emerging slang and creating some of its own. The ensemble cast has great chemistry, but Neil Patrick Harris is the real standout here, his womanizing Barney a far cry from his... review »

This show is great! It is always funny and has a great cast. It surrounds the main character (Ted) who is looking for love. We know he finds it because the show is a story told by a Ted in the future telling his children the story of how he met their mother, hence the title. This show is sweet, funny, and actually shows people who want to be in a relationship instead of sleeping around. There is the token sleeze-ball of the show, but even he is entertaining in his various ways of trying to pick up women.

I love how this show displays couples and it's whole view of relationships. Give the show a...

I began watching How I Met Your Mother from the middle of the second season. I didn't instantneously fall in love with it but it wasn't long before I did. I was so addicted to it that I had to catch up on all of the episodes on the internet and every times it's on TV I have to watch it. It is realistically hilarious. The characters aren't oblivious to the antics of the entire gang and the fact that it's so down to earth and easy to relate to is it's best quality. Barney, Ted, Robin, Marshall, and Lily are people that you probably know in real life and an absolute laugh. The years I spent without... review »
