I went with Hotwire based on my brother's suggestion.  Mistake!  #1. There are no cancellations or changes (which is ridiculous).  Due to the current swine flu outbreak, I first wanted to cancel my reservations to San Antonio, but that was to no avail.  Next, I tried asking if I could change my reservation to another state (not so close to Mexico).  This was a no go also.  What jerks.  I was concerned about my son who has some breathing issues already.  The company is very unflexible and unwilling to work with people even in a pandemic crisis.  I will NEVER, EVER, EVER use such a company again with stupid policies like this.  It is not worth the savings (which aren't really that great)!  You never know what is going to happen in the future, so stick with a company that offers you better options and is willing to work with you.  ALSO, the star rating is not consistent with the rest of the industry.  They advertised a 2 1/2 star hotel when according to others it is only rated a 2.  Also, when I called the hotel after making reservations, they had us booked in a nasty smoking room.  The only option they had for me was a nonsmoking handicap room, which I gratefully took.  DO NOT USE HOTWIRE!  BIG MISTAKE!!!!!

for off for the first part about not being able to make changes or cancellations you know that before you book that is your choice to use the site / now as far as the swine flu / they should have had something in place for that . that is irrelevant to being upset

I concur with your feelings about the star rating. We had a similar experience. I'll be disputing the credit card charges.
