Hotwire.com Review

Hotwire.com and Homestead Hotels (Hotel in Houston, TX Willowbrook area)

First time user of Hotwire.com, but never again. Booked my rooms days before my trip, of course you had to book your reservation before they would tell you what hotel they booked you at. Once I had the name of the hotel I went online to see what it looked like but once there I was very, very upset with the rooms. Went back to the Hotel Office who then told me I had to call Hotwire.com which I did who then told me sorry no refund. Even the hotel clerk informed me that she had other complaints from customers checking in or out concerning Hotwire.com. Overall I felt Hotwire.com refusing to help me or refund me they were forcing me to stay in this terrible place. I even requested to be moved to a different but better hotel but was told by both they could not do that.

I spoke with other Managers at other hotels like Days Inn and they said the hotel could and should have canceled my reservation from their end where then Hotwire.com would have had to refund me and when I shared that information with the Homestead clerk and manager I got nowhere. They said they could not cancel me without Hotwire.com's approval but that they would call Hotwire.com and try to get at least a one night stay refund which Hotwire.com refused based on the fact that I had already called them and was turned down. I ended up spending more money to go stay somewhere else. So Hotwire and Homestead both are making pay for something that was unsatisfactory and no one likes spend that kind of money on something no worthy of buying. Being a single grandmother I do not have $159.95 just to throw away, no one would.

Then the last blow was calling the number on the back of my Master Card Debit card to find that I have no back up there either because it is a debit card. I thought that the Master Card or Visa symbol on the cards represented some kind of protection. So I feel just totally at a loss, other than filing with the BBB or placing my review out on the internet everywhere that I can is the only satisfaction I am going to get which is very sad at the least.
