I became familiar with this model of the Hotpoint brand electric range stove when I recently moved into my new home. I was nearly broke and needed to buy economical appliances. After only a couple of months the burners did not properly stay level on the stove top so my nonstick pans would want to slide off. Additionally, the oven runs about 12-15 degrees hotter than the digital temperature setting reads. This translates to burned bottoms and unbrowned tops especially when baking cakes, casseroles or anything topped with cheese like lasagna. In conclusion, I'm disappointed with my purchase and wish I would have spent a little extra cash on a better stove. I recommend you steer clear of this.

Burns all the food.

We had this oven in our house when we first bought it, it was made a long time ago and I would be lying if I would say that I was not super happy when it finally went out and I got to buy myself a new one. This is an ugly oven, it is plain and boring, there is absolutely nothing about this oven that looks appealing, it looks old and just does not feel like something you want in your kitchen. I hate the coil burners on the top, they always get something on them or under them and then clean up is such a pain, I found wrapping the trays under the coils in aluminum foil helped and made clean up a lot easier, but it still was not fun. I burned everything that I put inside this oven. I could mess with the temperature and I would still burn the outside and the inside would be raw, even if I had it at a way lower temperature than what was stated to cook it at. Cleaning this oven was not too hard, it did not have a self clean on it which made me have to manually do it all. This oven reminded me of the 1970s and it is a cheap oven if you ever really need one, but it is not something that you are going to be happy with overall.

Quality stove

Our office has one of these stoves, and it has worked great for us for several years. We use it most often for company meals in conjunction with meetings. So we often have people bring food and warm it in the oven through the meetings, then pull it out for a meal after the meeting. It does a great job of warming food, and it is durable and trustworthy enough to leave it on for a couple hours warming food without feeling the need to check on it constantly. At other times, we use it for a meal that we prepare at once, and both the oven and the stove do a great job of cooking (or baking) the food in a timely manner. Heat Distribution The oven distributes heat very evenly, whether warming food up or baking it. It can take quite awhile to cook the middle of a pizza (especially if you put two in at once), but other than that, it does a good job. Durability We have had this stove for years, and it has lasted without any major problems or parts breaking.

Wonderful Upgrade For Any Kitchen

Ours is a family in constant use of a stove. After 25 years of good use, our old one died out. This free-range was our replacement. With swift, even heating, our meals were fried, broiled, and baked to perfection. Temperature Control On the range--Uneven heat is a thing of the past. The power of these ranges heat quickly and efficiently. This is especially important for frozen dishes. There are no uneven portions, and water boils within about 5 to 10 minutes. Higher heats do not over-heat or burn food. In the oven-- Watch your cookies. There is even flow of heat with this oven, and therefore temperature adjustments are always necessary. If not, cookies may burn or get a little too brown. However, a close eye will yield perfect cookies and cakes. Heat Distribution As stated before, this is an oven with wonderful heat distribution. My only suggestion is to adjust heat accordingly. Newer stoves achieve higher heat temperatures a lot faster than stoves made over ten to fifteen years ago. Ease of Cleaning What I like about this stove's surface is that it's VERY easy to clean. Even when you have to apply pressure to certain areas used the most, you will not have a strenuous journey getting things cleaned up. Internal surfaces require a bit more effort to clean, but not so much as a deep scrub. With the right cleaning agent--such as Comet or Fabuloso, those sauce and cream stains should come out with ease.

Very affordable

I love electric stoves, I had to replace mines and I found this one. I chose it because of its price. It is easy to clean and I believe that the top surface is wider than most ranges I have had in the past. I recommend it to all who are looking for a versatile and durable stove.

Don't get hot and bothered. Get a Hot Point range.

When I saw my apartment had some new Hot Point appliances I was not too thrilled at first. I always thought this brand was decidedly low-end, no frills, and probably unreliable. It turns out I was wrong since my **Hot Point** electric range has worked perfectly fine for more than a year. This is a **Hot Point Model** #**RB757 electric range.** It can stand alone, or like mine, be slid in between countertops. Mine is black, which looks nice when clean but easily shows all drips, spills, and dust. At least it matches the rest of the kitchen. The stove part has four coil burners of various sizes. The control buttons are on a panel that sticks toward the back. In general the burners work fine, although they are a bit slow in heating up. A red light comes on when any of the burners is turned on, which is very helpful.** ** The oven is self-cleaning and offers 5 cubic feet of space and two adjustable racks. Like the stove, it is a bit slow to heat-up. The temperature is controlled with a series of up/down touch-sensitive buttons and seems to be accurate. My biggest complaint is a dim light inside. Beneath the oven is a drawer which is handy for storing cookie sheets and large trays. It easily pulls in and out but can derail if you don't pull it straight out.  Overall I'll rate the **HotPoint Range Model #RB757** as 4 stars. I've had no problems after 15 months of use and it seems to function as well as expected. There are not many bells and whistles besides a digital clock and timer, but I think most people who want a basic, functional kitchen appliance will be happy with this model.

Hotpoints are THE BEST!

I love Hotpoint products.  We had already owned a Hotpoint Refrigerator when we bought the matching Hotpoint range.  We have it in the metallic, which is nice because it really doesn't show smudges at all.  We bought this when we remodeled our kitchen and I am so pleased with it.  The burners heat nice and evenly, and I have never had any problems with them.  I've also been very happy with the self-cleaning function as it kills everything completely and leaves it looking nice and clean.  It is super easy to clean.  I've heard that GE (General Electric) is the maker of Hotpoint appliances, and that Hotpoint appliances are rated very well.  I have been so happy with all of my Hotpoint appliances, and every positive thing I heard about them has proven to be true.  Hotpoint is a proven brand in my book, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Hotpoint appliance in the future.  My stove is awesome!
