good quality dishwasher through and through

Hotpoint for some reason is an understated kitchen appliance brand. I am not quite sure why. I own this Hotpoint dishwasher and it has been running very well for over 4 years now. This large capacity dishwasher can fit about 2-3 days worth of dishes plus drinking glasses and few pots and pans in one setting without compromising cleaning. Of course, I strongly suggest pre-rinsing extra dirty/greasy dishes/pots/pans, etc prior to putting these into the dishwasher. I'd say the noise level is 'medium decibels"--about the a sound of normal conversation, though I think the noise level is a bit noisier the more older this product becomes. Other than this, the dishwasher runs very well, and I havent had any mechanical problems with it at all. Very easy (basic) to use that even the young kids know how to operate this. A grade product.

The Hotpoint Dishwasher is a decent value

We have had this dishwasher in our home since we purchased our home new in 2007. I like many things about it. It is a decent size, and looks very nice on the outside. It holds a lot of dishes, and washes fairly well. I have had a few small issues with this dishwasher though. Over time, the plastic covering over the dishracks has come undone and now is rusting on the tips a little. This will leave rust stains on your dishes! Also, the detergent tray has sometimes stuck as to where it didn't dispense during a cycle, or I couldn't open it afterwards. It hasn't been a consistent problem though. Also, I have noticed that, over time, my glasses haven't been very clean. However, this could be a problem with our detergent (powder). I have used liquid tablets before and my glasses have been much cleaner and clearer. Overall, this dishwasher does it's job well, and it's been almost 4 years! Recommended.

Hotpoint dishwasher has large capacity and cleans well.

The Hotpoint HDA3400 built-in dishwasher is a good buy. It has a large capacity and cleans dishes well. This dishwasher has a lever-style door latch and these features: Pots and pans cycle, normal wash cycle, optional high temperature wash (good for dishes that have been sitting and might have germs), and optional heated dry. It might be good to turn the heated dry off if you're washing a lot of plastic things. This dishwasher also has a water saver cycle, rinse only cycle, plate warmer option and hot prewash option. If you have especially greasy dishes the hot prewash is great. You can decide whether to turn off options to save water or energy, or use one if that option is needed right then. It does matter what kind of detergent you use. The cheapest brand doesn't work well, but that probably explains it being the cheapest brand. The Cascade that has the rinse agent in it works better. Only fill the cup about one-half to three-quarters full. You won't gain anything by over filling it. It works about the same. The only main problem with this dishwasher is that it's pretty loud, so if you have a very small home it might not be the best choice. Otherwise, this is a good dishwasher.
