We purchased this refrigerator a couple of years ago when our old one suddenly quit. Without the luxury of lots of time to do extensive comparison shopping, we bought this fridge, which seemed to be a solid piece of machinery at a competitive price. The refrigerator is quiet and efficient, and has been easy to clean and maintain over the time we have owned it. Our energy bill is lower than before, so its promised claims of efficiency seem accurate. The profile of the fridge is quite narrow, so it fits well in a variety of spaces. The only complaint, and this seems standard for a side-by-side unit, is that the freezer shelves are narrow, making organization difficult, despite the relatively roomy freezer. Forget about putting in a frozen pizza, too... Otherwise, this is a good, sturdy fridge that satisfies our needs.

So yeah, its a Hotpoint Refrigerator so you don't expect a lot of bells and whistles on this one, right? Well yeah, then you'd be right. But as far as refrigerators go this one is adequate. There's enough room in there for a smaller family, plenty of shelf space on the door and you could fit a small country into the crisper. But the freezer side is small and cramped. And if you leave anything in there for an extended period of time you should expect freezer burn. It runs rather quiet, which is comforting. Few things I hate more about a refrigerator than being loud of having weird clicks all night. Other than that this thing seems like a solid machine. Good color, stands level, doors swing appropriately.

I was a little leary of buying an "off brand" refrigerator because I know you get what you pay for and this is a major purchase. I have to say I am so glad we decided to purchase this fridge. The fridge and freezer on this unit are very spacious, we are a family of four and we have lot of room. There is an ice machine on the outside of the freezer that dispenses water as well. There are a lot of shelves when you open the fridge on its door. These are all spill proof and has saved me from a lot of messes. I like the drawers in the fridge because they are very spacious and fit a lot of food. I haven't had any repairs and work done on this unit. You can control with a knob inside the unit what level of cold you want for your freezer and fridge. The seals on the unit have not cracked or let any cool air out. I would say this is a great buy for anyone!

The family just loves our Hotpoint refrigerator...They love how it makes its own ice cubes either crushed or whole and despenses filtered water at a push of a button..The size is just right for our family of four ..We need alot of room to store all the food we buy..It's the greatest...

*This side by side refrigerator is a wonderful addition to any kitchen.  Hotpoint-Ariston side by side refrigerator freezer has ice, crushed ice and water in the door.  The refrigerator holds all the groceries I can buy for the month with space left for leftovers.  The shelves are spill proof and glass so you can see thru them.  There is a crisper and a freezer drawer in the refrigerator part of this side by side.  We have owned the Hotpoint-Ariston for about 10 years and the only time we had to repair it was the time that lightinging ran in on the ice maker and we replaced those parts.  Our repair man told us they are still selling the exact same model and are still making new parts for it.  Shelves in the door are wide enough to hold gallons of milk.  The cheese door is see thru as well.  Baskets in the freezer that slide out for easy access to the things in the back.  The preformance and durability of this outstanding Hotpoint-Ariston has no rival.*
