Most HelpfulI do a lot of travelling and, like a lot of people these days, I do most of my booking online. A few years ago I started using Hotels.com, and have never looked back.
My first experience with Hotels.com was several years ago when I made last-minute plans to travel from New Zealand to Florida, to spend...

Most HelpfulLet me tell you a little story about Hotels.com. Normally I look at it but find it's not very competitive with its pricing so I take a peek to get ideas and then move on to the hotels own site or someplace like Priceline where I have never been disappointed in my hotel bookings and price. But recently,...
read full review »I have used hotels.com to book several hotel stays this month. With the economy at the point it is right now. You can really score a great deal and have a nice vacation for a quarter of the price you would ususally pay.The reviews of other guest have helped me a lot deciding which hotel to stay at and they have been right on. The prices are unbeatable and I have not been dissapointed. I have recently signed up to their rewards program and I am definitely looking forward to my free night at any hotel. Too bad I booked two other stays before signing up and lost 3 nights that could have accumulated...
read full review »Hotels.com is one of my favourite sites to use to book travel. First of all, among all the websites out there (orbitz.com, travelocity, airline websites, expedia etc) this is the only website that allows you to cancel your reseversation as long as the hotel allows it without charging any fees. When you are booking your hotel room, the website lets you know if you can cancel in the future and if there any fees associated with canceling.
Another thing I like about hotels.com is that it allows you to search for airlines even if your flight does not depart from a US location. For example I was recently...
read full review »I am editing my review after getting a response from the email customer service at hotels.com. After a mechanical break down kept me from reaching my destination, a telephone customer service rep. refused to allow cancellation, even with a fee. When our car broke down en route, the customer service agent was not in the least bit understanding, even though I offered to provide a AAA service number to prove there was no physical way of continuing the road trip to our planned destination. However, I later emailed the customer service link and within 24 hours was told the cost of the trip would...
read full review »I booking a room last summer. When arriving at midnight it was absolutely not what we had ordered. I called customer service but was stuck listening to music for half an hour. I just wanted to sleep but not in that room because it was HORRIBLE. Was luckily able to get the room I ordered for a little extra from the resort. I understand these things might just happen once in a blue moon or so I assume but I didn't like how Hotels.com Handeled the situation. They didn't want to accept fault and offered me a few bucks off my next booking which is weird incentive for a first time user with a bad experience,...

Hotels.com shows hotels, area maps, amenities, nearby attractions & more
Hotels.com may not always be the absolute best place to book a room, but it is certainly the easiest place to learn the most information in the shortest amount of time. You can search by location, and by hotel chain, if you like. You can find options near major attractions or airports. And all the hotels that match your search criteria come up in a list, but more importantly, also appear as icons on a map. So if you know you want to be on the south side of a city, for example, you can instantly see which of...
read full review »I love getting a good deal, so I'll occasionally browse the hotel deals on hotels.com. There are three reasons I generally don't book with them though:
* you have to pay in advance and cancellations are generally NOT available. That's a FAR more restrictive condition than the industry norm of allowing cancellations up until day of arrival. Unless you get a SERIOUS discount, it is NOT worth booking on ANY web site that requires pre-payment.
* prices are generally not that great. Despite having onerous conditions, their prices basically suck. You can easily find better deals elsewhere.
* limited...

We wanted to take a vacation but did not want to spend much. I tried many different websites looking for bargains.
After deciding on a location, I checked every travel website you can think of. I even called the tourism bureau of the city we were to visit to get their recommendations on hotels.
I located a couple of the hotels that were recommended and found them on hotels.com. After checking the reviews and great prices, we chose one hotel. Hotels.com was offering a free $50 gas card with any...

After making a reservation for a getaway weekend through hotels.com, I received a call from the hotel reservation desk offering a standard rate that was 33% less. Hotels.com refused to match via their "price match guarantee" under the premise that they only match rates posted on websites! When I tried to cancel the reservation made through hotels.com, they also refused based on "current policy". I am not impressed!
