Hotel Finisterra - Cabo San Lucas, —

My boyfriend and I recently took a trip to Cabo & stayed at the Finisterra. We had nothing but a great time there. The hotel is beautiful & in a great area. You can walk just about anywhere you need to go, but are far enough away that it's quiet. There are a ton of transporation options available at the airport, but I recommend having a pre-arranged shuttle service. We used Maritur through Orbitz and before we even left the airport, our return trip pickup time was planned.

The hotel staff was extremely nice and helpful. We had no problems with anyone being rude or expecting excessive tips. If you treat the locals nicely & with respect, they will do the same in return. Upon arriving at the hotel, I was prepared (from reading other reviews on here) to dodge the timeshare salesperson who would be in the hotel lobby. There was no salesperson & no one with timeshare information at all, just the hostess who offered free margaritas at check-in.

The beds were a little hard, but I still slept like a log. Actually, the mattresses were in the process of being replaced while we were there. The new mattresses were still firm, but seemed like they had more of a pillowtop on them. The rooms were very clean & the housekeeping staff was very friendly.

The food at the hotel was great. I'm not sure what some of the other reviewers were ordering, but most items on the pool bar menu were around $10US. We didn't see any activities going on while we were there, but there was music in the pool area, which was fine by us. Never had any problems bringing our own water bottles and snacks, although we also didn't carry the items around in a cooler.

The construction really wasn't that bad. The first day was a little loud and after that, we either got used to it or it was quieter. It did not start early in the morning and never woke us up or disrupted the day.

There are several supermarkets within walking distance & you will save a ton of money buying basic items like water there. The stores tend to blend in (especially after you've been walking around in the heat), so if you don't see them, ask someone.

Whatever you do, RELAX - you're on vacation! Oh and make sure you eat at as many places as possible - the food in Cabo is fantastic!
