Hot Point cook top stove —

I bought my Hotpoint ceramic cooktop about 10 years ago. It has a self cleaning oven. Now I don't have to worry about using harsh chemicals to clean my oven.

The cooktop is the easiest there is to clean. Mine has the "speckeld" top. Foods don't stick to it as easy as other cooktops. And after you clean it, it never looks greasy as some do.

When I say it's the easiest to clean, I mean no matter what you may spill or boil over onto the burners, they always come clean as new. You just use the liquid ceramic cleaner that comes with your stove or use a fine powdered cleaner called "barkeepers Friend" The class top sparkles like new.

The burners are instantly red when you turn them on, so your pans start heating right away. Also a nice feature is the heat indicator lights that are on when you're done & turn the burners off. The indicator lights stay on so you know there is surface heat, and won't inadvertantly set your hand or something on the burner.

The only thing that's disappointing is the little plastic decorative moldings on the top sides where the controls are. They've cracked & are loose. They had hairline cracks when I bought it but I didn't notice it til a few weeks later. I've never gotten them replaced  and now the cracks are bigger & the plastic has yellowed some over the years as have the control knobs. Not too noticable tho.

I've never had a service call or a problem with this stove. I use it everyday. If it ever goes out on me, I'll be shopping for a new Hotpoint ceramic cooktop to replace it. I had a gas stove for 20 years prior to my Hotpoint. I'll never go back to that cleaning mess again.

It's the one thing in my kitchen I'm picky about.

If you've never cooked on a ceramic top, you need to read the manual. It's different than electric or gas. The burners heat up much faster, so get used to cooking at a lower temps, setting your control knobs down to at least medium.
