Hot Pockets Meatballs & Mozzarella —

As long as I can remember my favorite sub in the whole world has been Italian meatballs with a load of mozzarella on it. Hot Pockets comes close to that great taste and it is only 300 calories.

What the heck is a Hot Pocket

It's really more of a small burrito to me rather than a pocket (thats why I am not employed by food companies...lol). Anyway it is stuffed with little meatballs, with a nice tomato sauce and mozzarella. It is nicely seasoned with oregano which as I like it is noticeable from the first bite. From freezer to mouth takes a little over 4 minutes including the 2 minute cooking time, they recommend you let it set for 2 minutes(not when I am hungry I don't).

For my tastes it could use a little more cheese though but hey many people don't like a bunch so it is fair. At only 300 calories, 110 of that is fat calories. it fits the bill well for a snack during the day. Although the sodium content is a bit high at 760mg., there is also 12g of fat of which none of that is trans fat.

I myself have never had a problem with watching what I eat, although I did inherit high fat in my blood from my parents. So I do try to limit my total fat intake to 110g a day or less and with this only using 12g it is not too bad. My doctor is happy and thats makes me happy!

    Bottom Line

For a quick snack anytime during the day or night Hot Pockets can fill the need and with a pretty good taste at that. I need to take medication every 8 hours and one of these is just big enough to buffer my stomach from the medication, but not big enough to fill me up too much before bedtime. The great mix of ingredients in them along with an ample amount of oregano reminds me of eating an Italian Meatball Sub smothered with mozzarella (without the smothered...lol).

I love Hot Pockets. I know I'm in the minority, but I just love them.

It's a favorite of mine too! And I, too, love a good meatball sub. I'm sitting here trying not to snack tonight, so maybe this wasn't what I should have been reading. ;-)
