Having loved Shaun of the Dead, I wasn't sure if the boys could pull off another movie that would catch me off guard the same way. British humor isn't quite my cup of tea, as the saying goes. I like some but by no means can I claim to be an avid fan. These gentlemen stand out though. Hot Fuzz didn't "americanize" itself to be more potentially popular, and I still got the gags. The twists surprised me, which I adore, as so few movies can do that lately. The writing is clever and intelligent, even in the way it goes crude or rude. Crass with class perhaps? Whatever it is, I really like it and cannot wait to see more.
