Are you a movie lover who's bored with the usual plots?
Hot Fuzz is the weirdest, wildest ride in years, directed by Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead). If you haven't seen Shaun of the Dead (and I hadn't, just went in stone cold to see this film), no matter. You will be laughing so hard, all the film's little jabs, big twists and comical send-ups won't really sink in until the next day .

This cool film says NO to standard genres
Hot Fuzz is part Buddy-Cop Action Adventure, part Agatha Christie suspense, part British farce, part indie masterpiece. The editing alone is worth the ticket price. You never know what's coming next, but it's coming fast, and Wright deftly weaves together a film worth seeing. Just GO without knowing too much. (Squirmers, beware the few truly gory scenes, but know that they are funny in a Pulp Fiction sort of way).

Bill Nighy, Timothy Dalton
I will go see anything with Bill Nighy in it. He only plays a small role in this film, but it's good for a giggle nonetheless. The two main characters really carry the show, with a seedy supporting role nailed by Timothy Dalton. The movie's ending was a complete surprise, and character development was steady throughout, and mostly believable. Just enjoy the ride and see where it takes you!

Wish I could have seen Keanu Reeves watching this movie........
Nuff said! You will wish the same thing, once you've seen it yourself!

The Bottom Line: Libby Loves It!

It wasn't my fave comedy, but there were a lot of laughs. Great review, Libby!

After reading your review, I added it to my Netflix queue. Well last night I watched it - a terrific movie! Had to pause it a couple of times just to catch my breath because I was laughing so hard. I highly recommend watching it on DVD so you can rewind some of the scenes (there are a lot of little details in the background that wiz by but show just how detail oriented the director was). Great pick Libby!

I was looking for a movie for my "stay in bed for Mother's Day" event. Looks like I'll pick this one up!
