Hormel Beef Tamales Are Not Bad For Canned Tamales

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

Do you ever get the urge for a good batch of hot tamales?  Yet, you don’t want to go out to a Mexican restaurant to get them?  That’s where **Hormel Beef Tamales in Chili Sauce **can come in really handy.  With a little doctoring, they can tastes just as good as a dinner out.

Hormel Beef Tamales in Chili Sauce

Hot tamales have always been a family favorite when it comes to Mexican dishes, either eating out or at home.  I’ve always kept a few last minute meals stocked in the house that anyone can prepare quickly and with little effort.  Hormel Beef Tamales in Chili Sauce is one of those “quick meals”.  They come in a small can that will feed 1-2 people (depending on the appetite) and a larger 28 oz. can that will feed 2-4.  The label states that one serving is 2 tamales but we usually eat at least 3 each and sometimes more.

The tamales are wrapped in a corn husk just as you would have them served on a plate in a Mexican restaurant.  They are fresh and easy to prepare.  All you have to do is open the can, put the tamales in a skillet and heat them up on a medium heat.  When warm, they are ready to serve.

My ViewPoint

**Hormel Beef Tamales in Chili Sauce **are pretty mild in flavor if prepared by just emptying the can into a skillet, warming and then eating.  If you want a more flavorful tamale, sprinkle the tamales with a chili powder while heating and you will find a more flavorful tamale.

My family all enjoys Hormel Beef Tamales in Chili Sauce.  This is especially a favorite of my twin girls.  I think they could actually survive on these things along with pizza and a Taco Bell in the near vicinity.  They are inexpensive and easy to prepare.  The small can costs around $.99 and the larger can about $1.79.

Tamales are pretty high in calories and also starch.  One serving is 190 calories with almost half of those coming from fat.  **Hormel **is a brand I trust and they deliver a good tamale in my opinion for a canned product.  If you like Mexican dishes, give **Hormel Beef Tamales in Chili Sauce **a try.  **I like it!  **I give **Hormel Beef Tamales in Chili Sauce **4 VP’s!
