The longest most well-constructed beer list in the city

This place is a beer-snob heaven. There are longer beer lists in Chicago, but the Hopleaf list tops them all because of the quality and versatility. The waitstaff is very knowledgeable - if they have/take the time to chat. Oh, and the food's pretty darn good too.

Go there, drink a beer you've never heard...

I fun place to try with groups gastropub

Well this is the new trend in Chicago the "Gastropub" which mean just a very large pub with food!
It has all the typical micro-brews. Typical wood decor with a bar and chairs in the front and tables in the back. Yes I do agree it is crowded on weekends and it wasn't that loud when I was there but people... review »

I'd heard a lot about this place. It was OK but not a place I'm dying to go back to. VERY crowded. Very long wait for food....though I must admit, the shoestring fries with garlic dipping sauce were quite tastey. Couldn't hear my friends across the table and hard to walk throuh without tripping on tables/chairs/people. Maybe I'm just not a barfly but it was just OK to me.
