Hello everyone! My name is Laura and I am writing a review about my Hoover Steamvac.
First let me start by saying I love it, love it, love it and it has definately been worth every penny I spent! I have several animals ranging from eight pounds to one hundred pounds and needless to say it takes quite a machine to keep up after these guys! I am constantly cleaning areas where they like to sleep whether it be on the carpet or the furniture.
I have spilled red soft drinks on my carpet and sprayed a spot remover on the spill but at times haven't had time to clean it up right away. I pulled out my trusty steamvac and it never lets me down. It is a nice compact size ( looks like a vacuum cleaner with attachments) stands upright and is very easy to operate. You have to put water in a reservoir in the front of the machine down by the wheels and you have a place right on top of the water holder to put whatever cleaning liquids you want to use. It doesn't cause a lot of bubbles so you can even use regular dish soap if you don't have carpet cleaning solution handy. There is a water release lever built into the handle so you just act like you are vacuuming and each time you make a forward pass over the spot just squirt a bit of water on the area you want to clean then you pull back over the area and it sucks the water right up. Keep repeating those motions and your carpet stays free of spots and looks brand new!
I also am able to clean my furniture with this machine and also my steps. It has attachments to clean soft surfaces as well. There is a hand help suction so that you can wet your furniture down and suck the water and solutions out by hand and then you can also vacuum over the area you cleaned with the same machine. One of the great things about this machine is that it dries in a matter of minutes. If you don't over saturate the area you're cleaning you can walk on it within thirty minutes.
To make a long story short, if you're looking for a 300 to 400 dollar steamvac that really works well and is easy to operate I would suggest you looking at the Hoover models. I have purchased two within the last 13 years and haven't yet had to replace my carpet.
Give one a try!
Sincerely,
Laura
