The Hoover Bagless Upright vacuum has very good suction but is a little challanged when it comes to picking up larger messes (i.e. cheerios). It's lightweight and looks pretty sharp. Has a nice telescoping handle.

Although it has a sufficient length of hose it does not come with extension poles.  I found it difficult to use to clean the ceiling fans and that a little more stooping was required for areas such as the sliding glass door tracks. It does come with a dust brush and a crevice tool which lends some extension (the dust brush snaps on to the end of the crevice tool) but I need at least two poles for comfort. I am planning on checking on the Hoover website to see if there are some that are compatible so until then I remain a bit disapointed ....

The filter has a nifty little thing on it that you move across the ridges to help release the dust prior to emptying.  The cup releases from the bottom. A definate plus there!

When the vacuum is in the upright position you have to step on the front to unlock it to begin vacumming. It's a little sticky and it's somewhat difficult to lock back up in the upright postition as well. There is no quick release button that I have found to date. It does, however, have a telescoping handle.  Overall not a big deal for me...

Cord storage is very nice and has a quick release but the cord length is not ideal for a larger home.  It may have been designed for dorms and small apartments but being that I only have 3 rooms of carpet I didn't want to invest in something more costly.

So far it seems durable and effective but a longer cord and some extension poles would be ideal.... Good value for money!  All in all I found it to be a good choice and it cleans well but may not have all the features a more expensive model might have. I

I believe I paid $43.00 at Walmart.
