I have never owned a steamvac before and I wish I bought this sooner! You do have to have patience, make sure you go over the same spot slooooowly to get up all the excess water, otherwise you'll have wet carpet for a while and the floor will get dirty faster from the soap residue, but that's going to be the case with all carpet cleaners. I love how the vacuum stops picking up water when the tank gets full so you never end up with a mess. True, you have to put your back into it (like all steamvacs) go over the carpet slowly to pick up all the water (like all steamvacs) and keep emptying the dirty water when doing an entire house (like all steamvacs) but this carpet cleaner leaves your carpet cleaner than if you paid someone else to do it.
