I have to say that this is one of the best purchases I have made in a long time. My husband and I were in a need for a new carpet cleaner. My old Hoover one went out and we had to return a terrible Bissel one due to it not working properly. I was a little skeptical about getting one that wasn't more money due to our last experience with a cheaper model carpet cleaner. I am glad that I went ahead and purchased this one. The overall design of this carpet cleaner is a lot more sleek looking and is easier to push and pull than the other models I have used. This carpet cleaner even had more attachments to use than past models. I was able to clean my couch and my car out with little effort. Of course the major reason I love this product was because it actually got the stains out of my carpet. I used the green bottle of Hoover carpet cleaner solution and the stains came out within just a couple of minutes. I also loved that it got most of the water out of the carpet afterwards. My carpets are much softer and the whole house smells so much better. I recommend this product to anyone with children or insides pets.

I bought this carpet cleaning machine because we have five children, two dogs, and three cats in our household, and that adds up to a lot of messes on our carpets. Things are constantly being spilled, tracked in from outside, or even little pet "accidents." I like this machine because it is just the right size, it is not huge and bulky, it fits nicely away in the corner or the closet until I need to pull it out. It is very easy to use and fill up the water and to dump out the old dirty water. It only takes a few minutes to get the machine ready and you are on your way to cleaning up whatever disaster has been made. The machine is very easy to move around the room and get into the nice corners, it sucks up all of the water very well and leaves the carpet relatively dry and very clean. It has a lot of suction and picks up even all of the pet hair that the animals leave in the carpet. I use the tool attachment on both my couch and love seat and they both look new still. It has a nice sized cord that makes it easy to use on the stairway as well. It is a great machine!

I have owned this cleaner for over 6 years now and am thoroughly pleased with it. With kids and pets, I put it to use several times a year, sometimes more often on the area rugs and 1 carpeted room in our home. I have also used it to spot clean vehicle interiors using the hand tool and found the hose reaches plenty far for this task. It has even been put to use for extracting water from basement rugs and carpeting when we get heavy rain and leaky walls. My only complaint through all of that is the bucket handles being somewhat flimsy, having broken it once and bought a replacement already. Fortunately, it was easy to find a replacement part.

A few years ago, we needed to buy a steam vacuum cleaner for our townhouse style apartment because we have two cats and lots of stairs. We needed something that was inexpensive, portable, and easy to use. We found this vaccum by accident at Wal-Mart (we were thinking of buying one at the time but not quite really shopping for it) and it was super inexpensive. If we rented a professional machine twice, it would be more expensive than the price of this steamvac so it paid for itself pretty quickly. The machine is pretty easy to use once you get the hang of it but it is pretty heavy to carry up and down the stairs so my husband is in charge of cleaning the stairs. What I really love about this is that it really picks up all of the dirt and mess that is not picked up by our regular vacuum cleaner. If one of our kitty happens to have a hairball accident and we've tried cleaning it as best we can but there is still some trace left. We bring out the steamvac and it gets cleaned right away, no fuss, no muss. The circulating brushes really get down into the carpet and bring up any dirt that's hiding in the carpet. Our carpets have stayed clean for years since we've bought this handy dandy Steamvac. I wish it were a little lighter but we bought it almost 10 years ago and I'm assuming the newer models are lighter than my machine. I would heartily recommend this (or a newer version) of Hoovers' Steamvac.

I am a dog lover and have had anywhere from 1-5 dogs at any one time throughout my life. With that many dogs a carpet cleaner is a necessary must-have product for my household. I have tried a number of brands and types of carpet cleaners and the Hoover SteamVac Dual V Carpet Cleaner Vacuum is my favorite to date. It has a variety of great features that make it my favorite. First is the dual containers, one for the shampoo/water and one for the dirty water. I love that it's easy to use and I don't have to constantly be re-reading the manual to use it. It moves smoothly and although heavy I find it easy enough to use. The price for any carpet cleaner can be steep and this one is no exception. But if you're like me and own pets or children it can save you hundreds (or even thousands) on replacing carpet.

We bought this Hoover SteamVac Dual V Carpet Cleaner Vacuum after we bought a house. The carpet in several rooms has some stains. Most of the stains are not too noticeable expect the ones in the family room. It's a bank-owned and we suspected that they might already have some professionals cleaned the carpet before putting it on the market. Since we have small kids we still like the carpet to be cleaned. We were surprised how dirty the water was right after we just vacuumed! We also bought the Hoover cleaner but the stains did not change at all. Well, that's understandable considering professionals didn't get them out. So for the cleaning purpose, we are very happen with this machine. However, it is not a very durable. When we tried to clean the stairs using the small brush, the hose for the small brush broke! Maybe because we used hot water instead of warm water?! Also the tank to contain clean water sometimes leak from the two buttons, so we have to check every time to make sure those two button are in a secure place.

This is a pretty good shampoo cleaner for lightly soiled carpets, but requires multiple uses on heavier stains and deeper dirt. I don't really know why all of the manufacturers of these type cleaners call them steam vacs, as they do not produce any steam. They just use hot water. I had owned a Bissel carpet shampooer that put down shampoo mixture and had 3 substantial brushes that really got down into the carpet. The drawback with it was that although it cleaned the carpet very well, it required drying time. This model works fairly well and it will suck almost all of the moisture out of the carpet. The problems are that the brushes are on the small side and it practically sucks the shampoo solution up before it has much of a chance to do any deep cleaning. By filling the suction tank before starting you can trick it into not sucking up anything and are then able to use it to deeply shampoo your carpet. Then empty the aforementioned tank and suck all the solution up.

We purchased this to clean our carpets, our baby had acid reflux and spit up multiple times a day and it was hard to keep up. I had borrowed carpet cleaners from family and didn't like how the new water and older water ended up in the same tank, somewhat separated. The Hoover SteamVac has dual tanks. So clean water goes out of one and the old water come into a completely separate tank. The other thing I love about it is that it is very easy to clean when you are finished. All of this makes it easy to use. The new water tank is easy to fill and the old water tank is easy to empty. It cleans really well and does not leave a soapy film on the carpet. Although it is a large vacuum it is easy to maneuver and the chord is long, allowing you to cover a lot of area. My sister and parents have also purchased this carpet cleaner and love it. My parents had water damage on their carpet from a fridge water pipe leaking and this carpet cleaner cleaned up the stain, the carpet looked as good as new, it was incredible.

**Hoover Steam Vac Dual V Carpet Cleaner Vacuum - ** The good.  The bad.  The ugly. The good first.  It cleans great.  The amount of dirt that is in the water tank when I am done is amazing.  It always makes you feel good after cleaning the carpets because you can see the fruits of your labor!  It also sucks the water back out of the carpet great which is part of why it cleans so well it sucks all the dirt out of your carpet!  I use the attachment on my chairs, which are filthy since I have young children and when I'm done they look brand new.  I personally liked mixing the cleaning agent into the water myself with my old carpet cleaner because I could add extra cleaner if I felt that carpets needed it. The bad. Heavy, heavy, heavy.  If you don't want your vacuum to tip over and down the stairs or you don't want to hurt yourself you really almost need two people to use your attachment on the stairs.  I have no problem lugging stuff around but getting this thing up from downstairs is no minor task and then to go up another flight with it should count as your weight lifting work out for the day. The ugly.  It leaks water.  Of course my one year warranty is gone, by a few months, and it is leaking all over.  At first I thought maybe I didn't have the dispensers aligned correctly but I take extra effort to make sure everything is on correctly and snug and not only is it leaking it is now worse.  So when I am done there is a huge dark (dirty) wet spot under the cleaner and if I have pulled it onto my hardwood to get the edge of the carpets water is everywhere and I have to get a towel to mop it up. So based on the ugly I no longer like my Hoover Steam Vac Dual V Carpet Cleaner Vacuum.  I spent to much money for it not to work a year later, especially when there are so many other brands for me to choose from.  And I will be choosing a different brand. ****
