Whether your a pet owner or not the Hoover Agility Steam Vac is for you. Easy to use and gentle on your carpets. You can clean your carpets, furniture and even bare floors with this powerful steam vac from Hoover.

How it works

The solution tank holds about 1 1/2 gallons of solution and disconnects with the push of a button. The suction tank has a float in it to let you know when its full, both tanks are made of a see through design and are easy to clean. Simply measure your carpet solution and fill with hot water, click in place and your on your way. This steam vac works the same as an upright vacuum cleaner, with foot operated buttons for power and to unlock it from the upright position.

For tough spots there is a "Clean Surge" button that increases the amount of solution released onto the carpet. To suck it back up a slow pull backwards does the trick. There are 5 spinning brushes to scrub the dirt up and the suction part is even see through so you can see what all is coming up from your carpet..YUK!

A smaller version which is snuggly held on the tool caddy is perfect for cleaning upholstery and like its big brother/sister has spinning brushes as well. Living in the country and having pets, I give this thing a fairly good workout about every month. I have not noticed any carpet fibers in the suction tank, nor have I noticed any excess wear on my carpets..

The weight of this Hoover is good enough to suck up the solution, but if you are in a bigger hurry than 3 hours then a slight pressure on the suction head will save you almost half that time. It is a bit awkward to do so but I have done it before when my wife informed me company was coming....lol

I use the "Clean Surge" quite often and even then I still have a dry carpet in about 3 hours. Using your ceiling fans will also help speed up the drying process. The scary part at first will be a little hard to get used to. You will use about 2 1/2 tanks of solution before the suction tank is full. But even as much as I use this Hoover I am not worried about the use to retrieve ratio. I have no musty smell or mold so I know it is doing its job.

I was lucky enough to get this at K-mart in their down days of closing stores and finally being bought by Sears. Yes I must have a horse shoe up my ...never mind...lol Anyway I picked this beauty up for $139, it sells everywhere else for $160 and up to over $200 in some places.

Bottom line

I have owned a few carpet/steam vacs in my time and I am totally impressed with this Hoover. My mother loved her Hoover vacuum and I guess I have carried that tradition on. She would love this Hoover as well if she were still with us. She did teach me a lot while I was growing up even though I am a guy. I was taught to cook, clean and do laundry, Mom was from the old school of thinking and figured even guys needed to learn those things just in case they stayed single. Mom taught me well as I always research before I buy and waste my money. In a lot of ways she was ahead of her time!

So if your in need of a steam vac the Hoover Agility may fit your needs as it has mine. Even at full price this is a good buy and will give you great results. I have owned this for about a year and I have no leaks and no reduction in performance. As I do with many things I buy I have the extended warranty on this, I always say better safe than sorry. I got a 3 year extended warranty on top of the manufacturers warranty. That gives me roughly another 3 years of peace of mind.

Sounds like something I have to buy. I have two kids, a big dog, a cat and two ferretts! Again, very good review.
