Hoover Floormate - H3000 Upright Wet and Dry Vacuum —
I have Pergo as well as tile flooring and I don't like to see spots or streaks on my floors after I mop. I tried other things, swifter etc. and was not very happy and found them too costly.Then one day I saw the Floor Mate on TV and decided to check it out. Though I thought $179.00 was a little expensive, I do not regret buying this at all.
First off the Floor Mate is very light weight, I'm guessing 10 pounds or so. I can hold it with 2 fingers. There are 2 containers on the unit. One which catches all the dirty water and the other which is up top. This is where you fill the container with cleaning solution. (Which by the way comes with the unit upon purchase) You pour 2 oz cleaning solution or ammonia, which I was told was okay to use into the included cup then pour it into the container and fill with hot water. Slip the container into place then push the lever to wet scrub.
The wet scrub brushes are stiff plastic that won't scratch any surface. They spin very rapidly and can scrub and lossen almost anything on the floor. You have to clean a small area, maybe 3 to 4 feet, ( the unit has about a 13 inch cleaning path) then with a quick flip of the finger, you switch to wet/dry pick-up. As you pull back toward you the Floor mate picks up all, and I mean every bit of water and dries the floor completely. I can do my TV room and dining room and hall on one container before refilling.
Some of the best things about the Floor Mate that sold me was not only the spot free cleaning, but the fact that I don't have to bend or to put my hands in nasty water. I don't have to squeeze water out and there is no setting to change when I go from wood floor to tile. And I am getting a better cleaning than by using a mop.
Just as a test when my husband and I were cleaning the garage I used my Floor mate out there and by the time I was done, we decided we didn't have to paint the floor. My Floor Mate even took out the small oil stains!
Some people say the unit is a little loud. Not! Not any more than any other vacuum. I highly recommend this product to everyone. It does a fantastic job, is easy to use and leaves no water spots, streaks or marks. Who ever thought of this item was brilliant!
