I first caught a glimpse of Hoodwinked on the Cartoon Network and thought "what the?" and I couldn't stop thinking about how funny it was until I saw parts of it again later on and finally found out what the title was. I watch this whenever I have had a bad day at work and I want to laugh and forget about it all. I've always been interested in the importance of fairy tales and their origins, etc. And I suppose that is why Hoodwinked grabbed my attention.

I have to say, though, that just because a title is animated it does not mean it is always for toddlers or young kids and the TV should never be a babysitter! There is nothing bad in this movie at all, but unless your kids are a little older and understand the original tale of red riding hood this may be a little hard for them to wrap their minds around. Teenagers and kids at heart would definitely appreciate it though. It is really fast paced and I had to watch it twice once I got it home to catch what I missed.  But that is part of what is so great about this animated gem. You don’t just watch it once and toss it in the giveaway. Any adult who is interested in CG animation will appreciate this, at least I did. And I liked Anne Hathaway's voiceovers as Red. You might be surprised who else voiced the other characters, especially Granny Puckett's!

I don't understand how anyone could call it boring because if you catch the subtle humor and the one liners they slip in like the "loon joke" and "it must be French because it says dee-na-mante" etc. You will start to laugh at the character's circumstances. Caffeine anyone? No not you squirrel haha. But then everyone has a different sense of humor.

Overall I gave it five stars because I really love it. It grows on you and I love the catchy songs. You may have to be a little bookworm-ish to appreciate it but I think it is worth it.
