I graduated a few years ago and though there have been no doubt more changes to the campus since I left (mid-coed transition), I think it's still a great place to get an education if you're looking for a small campus, individual attention from professors, and a supportive social network.
I'm moderately liberal and so I may not have noticed as much an attitude toward conservative students that the previous reviewer mentioned, but I think that there are professors there on all points of the liberal-conservative spectrum and certain classes (poli sci, sociology) those opinions may come out. I was a soc/poli sci major and I came across classmates and professors of all viewpoints and remember lots of spirited, intelligent debates on a lot of *hot topic* issues.
My years at Hood were some of the best of my life and I came away with a greater sense of self and direction. I also came away with phenomenal friendships with people I consider more like family now.
Like all institutions, it has its drawbacks and annoyances, but overall it was a great and challenging education.
