Ok space heater for the price.

Our 13 year old Honeywell space heater decided to call it quits this year so my husband found this one and decided to go with Honeywell again. I must say I miss my old heater. This one just doesn't seem to have the same output as our last one. We use it primarily in our master vanity area (no where near the sinks, mind you). There are 10 foot high ceiling in there, but our last heater was able to keep it nice and toasty in there. We have to run this one a good 15 minutes before it feels decently warm. I do like the safety feature on this heater. It the heater is bumped or knocked over it immediately shuts off. I wouldn't necessarily not recommend this heater, but it would probably be better suited for a smaller space.

Not what it claims to be.

This heater is listed as a medium room heater. I can only heat a narrow hall space with it. I put it in a room that is 8x15 with 6 1/2 foot ceilings and could not even feel the heat at all. The temp of the room actually dropped. The design of the stove is attractive. Size is small and has a reasonable price, if it did what it is rated for. It does have a really nice safety shutoff, for when it is tipped over in any direction, and it works great. It seems like a very durable stove. It has two heat settings and also has a fan only setting. Performance Does not heat a medium size room as advertised. Will only heat a very small space. I used it to heat my hall way area, which is 4 x 8 area with 6 1/2 foot ceiling. It heats this space nicely. I could not feel the heat in a larger room. Ease of Use Very easy to use. Just plug in and turn the knob to the desired setting. Has two heat setting and a fan only setting. Durability I have only had this for a little over a month and it has started making a fan noise. It still works just fine in my small space, it just makes a noise as if the fan is hitting something, or a bearing is going out. Design This little heater has a very nice design. It is very attractive and fits well with its natural earth tone color. The heat comes out around the entire 360 degrees evenly. It has a perfectly located handle build in the top area of the heater. The control knobs are easy to use and are located on the front area of the heater. The base is slightly wider than the body of the heater and it make it very stable. It has a cord that is of a nice length. Safety This heater has a built in safety shutoff that automatically shuts off if tipped over in any direction. This is a great feature of this heater and it works very well. It will also shut off if the stove is picked up when running.

All-around heating for medium rooms; 360 heating

I recently purchased a 360 surround heater for my house because unfortunately my heating system is broken! The winter season has arrived and I didn't want to freeze for the next few months which would be miserable so the next logical decision is to buy a heater. My family and have two other heater but we needed a new one and one that can heat sizable room. So we went to the store and looked at an array of heaters and finally choose the one we have. We made the right choice and I couldn't be happier. We have a big house and although it doesn't the enitre (which we expected that) along with the other heaters, it definitely gets the chill out of the air. Now we don't have to wear sweaters and jackets around the house. Overall, the 360 surround heater works really well enough to heat a medium house or designated room area. It's light weight, quite heat, and it's manual control so you can choose the selected temperature: air or heat along with a safety shut off. Great product!

I bought this Honeywell 360 surround heater about 2 years ago. I bought it because I am always cold so I will out this by my chair when Im watching tv. I loved it because it kept me nice and toasty without the big bulk of others. It worked great up until 2 months ago when it started to act funny. I will have it on for like 5 minutes and then it will just shut off. I made sure its not close to anything and before I could leave it running for a while and it would never shut off. but now it does. I don't know why but it does . It wasnt too expensive so ill probably just buy another one .

Good heater for the price

My husband and I bought this heater for the winter season, for the price and the fact that the heater has 360 degree heat. I have found that using it the side of the heater can get very hot. I got a little too close walking by it, and I learned my lesson. The top of the heater will got hot also, but it will not burn you. Performance The heat does blow out at 360 degrees and it can heat my litle living room up in a reasonable time. Ease of Use All you do is plug it in and turn it on. It has various settings. A fan only, and two fan settings for the heat. And another control for how hot the heat will come out. Durability I have only owned it for about a week, but so far I like it Design I really do like that the heat will blow out at all directions. It helps to heat the area of a room better. Safety I do think that children do need to be watched around this type of heater. The metal that goes around the heater will get pretty hot and can cause harm.

Decent but not as good as I'd hoped

I bought two of these, as my central heating tends to be pretty spotty. Two bedrooms needed additional heat, and these space heaters do an adequate job. Well, one of them does. The other one seems to have a faulty fan and only blows hot air for about 30 seconds before it shuts off again. When you're trying to keep the baby's nursery warm, this is very annoying, as it doesn't heat nearly as well as the one that works. It has the option of 'fan' and 'low and high'... Honestly not sure what 'fan' is supposed to do. You can turn the dial to indicate how high or hot you want it, but I wish this were more refine. Like "keep it exactly this temp' in here..... instead, I leave a room thinking the heater is at the right level (not number or degree to work with) and return in the middle of the night to find it's overly hot or cold. One great feature is that if you knock these over, they shut off. In rooms with children, that is essential. One even shut off when it was on top of its own cord, so its center of gravity was only off by 1/4 inch or so and it was sensitive enough to shut off. I like that.

ok for small space

I purchased this small Honeywell surround heater not to long ago. If your looking to heat a larger area you probably don't want this unit. Don't get me wrong it work very well. However it is not intended to heat a large space. If you have a smaller space this should work well for you. The hot air blows upward not out so you need o keep that in mind where you place it. It is fairly compact so is easy to store. You can adjust the heat setting and how hard the heat blows. One thing I would reccomend is to not keep it in reach of any children. The area where the heat blows out it is a metal like cage on the top of the unit. It gets very hot very quickly and could burn anyones hands. Be careful not to pick it up by the top too. I have not personally done this but I can see how it could easily be done. Overall it is a good small unit that performs well.

My husband got this a while back for some extra heat in the garage when he works out there in the winter time at his work bench. Don't know how it would heat in the house since we have a fire place and no need for it in there. Seems to get the job done in the garage for a bit of extra warmth. Now please keep in mind that we don't get freezing winters here in North Carolina! But it does get pretty cold (like lately we have gotten into the 20's.) All in all, I would reccomend this for someone looking to use it in the way my husband does, to warm a small area while getting things done. He has never complained about it. Price was decent also, we are on a budget!

Powerful little heater for such a small device.

My husband purchased this portable heater for my desk area at home. At first I was skeptical about the surround/360 heat as opposed to a directional one, but have been very happy with the benefits. We have had a few very cold nights and we moved it into the bedroom to take the chill off and it managed to heat the space, door open, so well that we had to get up to turn it down. Multiple adjustable controls and safety features make this a great small heater. Performance The heat/fan can be adjusted easily and even on medium (we have never had call to turn it all the way up!) it can heat an area larger than one would expect. Ease of Use It has 2 dials, one for off, fan, low or high and the one dial for the level of the heat. There are no temperature settings, just a weighted line to indicate the warmth much like a car heater knob. Durability I have owned this heater for one year and can't see any wear and tear besides one very small dent in the mesh where the heat comes out. Design I still feel that if you are just going to put one of these in a corner and out of the way a directional one is your best bet, but the 360 hasn't given me cause to complain. It gives me the option the place it out a little farther in the room and heat the area quicker. Safety The plastic casing gets quite warm, but has no signs of problems as a result. You should be careful picking it up immediately after extended use. It has the tilt off safety feature so that if it goes more than 45 degrees from seated flat it turns itself off and all of the heating components are well hidden and not accessible even by long hair through the mesh. As a pet owner these are wonderful.

Honeywell Space heater is safe and effective

4

I have owned the honeywell 360 surround heater for over 6 years now. In that time we have used it heavily during the winter (in homes/rooms without heat). The product is very durable and shows no signs of quittign anytime soon. One of my favorite features in this heater is the safety of it. the heater is relatively "cool tough" (on the white part). You can adjust it to heat 360 degrees or only 180 if you do not want heat going back wards (say towards nearby curtains). Also, if the heater tips over, it will shut off automatically. That said, my one complaint is that the heater should have a higher temperature setting. I never thoguht this was a problem until we got a more powerful space heater. Now I realize this heater doe not heat a room as effectively as some.
