The unit is oil filled and sealed. The oil gets hot and radiates the heat. You can set the degree of heat being radiated. The unit will turn off if knocked over. This heater is definitely better than some i've tried.  But i wouldn't say it's the best.  Depending on the size of the room you are trying to heat, it can work fairly well.  In my 14x12 bedroom, it did an adequate job of taking the chill out of the air.  But in my larger family room it was over... review »

Honeywell Oil Filled Heater very quiet an work well.

 Honeywell Oil Filled Heater work very well, it take a littile time for the heat to come up but it well worth it.I had a heater problem i run the heat into the night

The heater have a build in timer on it to shut off even if your not home.The safety

is frist for your family an their home.
