I purchased this to replace an old, cheaply constructed model by Duracraft, which is so low-end apparently it does not even have an entry on Viewpoints. Honeywell lasts longer than the old Duracraft purifier, though the benefits less dramatic than a longer functional life. Both models take up lots of space - a problem in an already crowded and cramped bedroom. the spongey filter is easy to clean but leaves your model out of commission, when too much clogging require wet cleaning and ample drying time. The noise is negligiable for first four to five months, but gets noticeably loud to affect quieter, sleeping time if it is left on continuously without a rest or break for the motor. As for improving overall air quality, I find it acceptable as long as the rest of room is regularly vacuumed to reduce dust and mite.

The Honeywell 50250 Air Purifier works magic at cleaning the air

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

Living in an area that has a lot of pollen issues, and adding to it the three cats that we have in the house, having an air purifier in the house is just about a requirement.  In fact, we have two in the house right now, with one being the Honeywell 50250 Air Purifier.  The Honeywell does a great job at cleaning up the air with very little fuss, and it has the ability to really improve the air quality for your house and those that live in it.  In fact, the Honeywell 50250 has a filter that removes 99.7% of all particles in the air that come through it.  You want to talk about cleaning up the air; being able to remove that high a number of particles consisting of bacte...

works great but filters are pricey

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

We bought this a while back for my horrible allergies and were hoping that it would help prevent them from becoming worse than they already are (it was also on clearance which was a huge bonus!). It was great the first few months that we used it. It really helped reduce the dust allergens in my bedroom. It was amazing how much dust accumulate on the filters when it was time to replace it (about 6 months or so). It was just so thick it was gross. I would say that in 6 months of usage (and turned on during the weekends and at night), there was about 1 to 1 1/2 inches thick of dust and cat hair on the charcoal pre-filter.

There are two filters that you need to replace: the inner charcoal like ...

I have DEBILITATING allergies and this does the trick!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

The HEPA filter on this is wonderful and very effective.  I also love the fact that this is quitest HEPA filtering air cleaner that I've ever had.  And I have had a lot of them because of my allergies.  I would recommend this air cleaner to anyone and everyone for their home and office because clean air is hard to find these day inside buildings.  There are so many toxins - with many of them hidden with no odor.I have very serious allergies and I also have cats.  Luckily I'm not allergic to cats - mostly grasses, pollen, hay, dogs and other animals.I also love the fact that the filters can be cleaned by just running some water through them.  The Honeywell Pure HEPA Round Air Purifer works really great in our large living room / dining room which is 40' by 25.'If you want cleaner air, this is the air purifier for you:)

Honeywell Enviracaire Portable True HEPA Air Purifier 50250!

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

The Honeywell Enviracaire Portable True HEPA Air Purifier is used in my company's office and I like it so much, I decided to go ahead and review it. Of course, what I like most about this amazing machine is how well it cleans the air. The air seems so crisp and refreshing when this Honeywell Enviracaire Portable True HEPA Air Purifier is running! My boss also informed me that it has a 360-degree intake, which is probably why the air seems so fresh. Another great thing about this unit is that it's quiet, which is probably why it is used in our offices. I looked into purchasing this air purifier for my own home, but found it to be way to expensive for my family's budget. Overall, if you can afford it and its filters, I definitely recommend!

The air quality in my house vastly improved.

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

Ever since I first started using Honeywell's brand of Enviracaire Portable True HEPA Air Purifier, the air inside of my house has been improved 150%. I live in a house that has rather poor air quality normally (as I live right next to a busy street with a ton of traffic and trucks passing), so purifying the air has become especially important to me. I used to have a ton of allergic reactions, and just simply breathing the air in my house became a sort of task. However, listening to a friend's advice, I purchased this product, and the air in my house has become SO much cleaner. This product is a must-have for people who have allergies, or living quarters with a ton of dust or smog. Do yourself a favor a buy this product if you do - you will be doing your health a tremendous favor.

Good purifier

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

If you have allergies like me, then you are going to love having an air purifier in your house. The cost of an air purifier isn't usually cheap, but in time, it'll pay for itself, as in my experience, I've had to take less allergy medication while I use it. It is very quiet and you can sit it in an area out of the way so that it doesn't get in the way and tripped over. You occasionally have to replace the filters to ensure that the purifier continues to purify air, but it is relatively simple and not very expensive. It's quite easy to use, have a filter in, plug it in to a wall socket, and turn on the power, so you don't have to worry about complex instructions. I was on the fence about this product, but I'm very happy I purchased it.

Really cleans the air

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

The Honeywell Enviracaire portable air purifier works wonders in my house and because it uses a HEPA filter it gets just about every particle out of the air. It has 360-degree design that allows it to pull in air from all around it to filter so it's probably best that you don't place purifier close to anything that could obstruct the air flow. The Honeywell is portable so it's not very heavy and can be stored just about anywhere. It has a couple settings and it's really quiet on most of them except for the highest setting which can make it sound a bit loud. One thing that I love about this air purifier is that it's very easy to maintain and I've noticed allot less dust in my house since I've started using this thing. If you want to breathe better and dust less than pick one of these up.

Lives up to expectation

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

I bought this for my sister and her family because her kids get sick quite often. Kids always get sick naturally but I also it's because of the air in the house not being recycled and filtered. So I went out and purchased this with hope that my nephew and niece can enjoy fresher air.

It was small and compact and its own ways. Other purifier are tall and skinny which can fit in smaller space. But this guy is short and round. Kinda cute. When I plug it in, i was surprise. This chubby guy is very quiet. Although it is portable, we actually just set it in one corner of the living room. Sometimes my sister would move it to the bed room, but majority of the time it stays in one place. moving it is easy because it's relatively light. The kids seem like they're not sick as often anymore. I don't know if it's because of this or what, but I'm happy.

breathe clean air

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I really recommend this product if you have a smoker in your home. I think obviously that if you have a smoker in your home then you need to address a much more bigger problem but the simple fact of life is that some people will be smokers and choose to smoke regardless of the health implications on themselves or the people nearby. I first purchased this air purifier while I was in college. I had dormmates who smoked often. They did not smoke indoors but they frequently dragged the stench of cigarettes indoors. Sometimes they would get sloppy and the smoke would drift indoors due to a door not being fully closed. I purchase an air purifier because an air purifier like this honeywell is capable of trapping tobacco particles. As everyone knows, second hand smoke is not healthy at all and is oftentimes worse for the people in the background than the actual smoker since the smoker has a filter. I really recommend this product if the air quality in your home or dorm is in question.

The Honeywell 50250 Air Purifier is a good investment.

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

I own two large dogs and a rabbit and I am always trying to keep my house smelling nice and trying to keep the air in my home clean and free of allergens.  I bought the Honeywell 50250 Air Purifier about three years ago to help me in these efforts.  I liked the fact that it claimed to purify such a large space and that it claimed to suck up pet hair and allergens from the air.  I found that it performed well in both of these areas.  It also comes with a lifetime warranty on the hepa filter inside.  The filter, however, does get clogged up and needs to be cleaned more often than the device claims.  The filter is easy to remove and only has to be vacuumed in order to clean it.  As long as you clean the filter often, this air purifier will do a very good job at keeping you home clean.  Another nice feature about the Honeywell 50250 is that it is round and, therefore, sucks in air from all angles at once.  I would recommend this product.

The Honeywell 50250 is loud, but it works well

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

We purchased the Honeywell 50250 to help clean pet dander and other allergans out of the air in our room. It does help with allergies and it definitely makes the air smell cleaner when you use it regularly.

The HEPA filter can be cleaned and re-used. There is a pre-filter that is supposed to be replaced every so often (depending on how often you use it the filter and how often you leave it on). There is a light on the purifier that tells you when it thinks the filter needs to be replaced. Replacement pre-filters are sold at WalMart and Target. The replacement pre-filter fits a number of Honeywell filters. This air purifier uses 2/3 of the filter you buy. So, if you buy two filters and keep ...

pretty solid

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I have this round dome purifier from Honeywell and the 17000 from Honeywell as well and they both perform just fine. I actually have some smaller air purifiers as well that sit on top of a desk both those I do not consider true purifiers. This though is a true purifier. It has a 360 air intake as it is a circular cleaner that can take in air from all sides. It has a HEPA filter so you know that the bad stuff in your home are getting filtered and staying filtered in there. When you clean the filter you can see all the stuff it collected over time. At that point you have no mistaking its affectiveness. The cleanup process by the way is not a weekly ordeal. It actually takes a long time for the cleaner to be at max capacity and for the cleaning to take place. So do not think you will have to clean this thing weekly because you wont. The thing is pretty quiet and not horribly loud like some other cleaners that I have used (and returned). For a solid performer, try out Honeywell.

cleans air well

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

The Honeywell 50250 is perfect for anyone who is allergic to dustmites or mold. It is also great for pollen as well. In general it is good for anyone whose is allergic to anything in the home. The fact is that most people's air quality indoors is worse than the air outside. It seems counterintuitive and it seems false studies have shown that the average home it is true. It is imperative to breathe in clean air and some of the good air purifiers in the market cost several hundred dollars. I've seen some go for $400-$500. Unfortunately, I matter how good it is most families cannot afford such a hefty price tag including myself. For a little more than a hundred dollars, the Honeywell 50250 is really a bargain. Operation is very easy and I have noticed a slight decrease during pollen season. I am happy with the purchase and use mine on most nights, except when it is really cold. The air purifier circulates cold air around the room and it makes it chillier so for cold nights I turn it off.
