We have a pretty large living area(24x20 approx) with vaulted ceilings, so we needed a larger air cleaner and Honeywell is a trusted brand. It does work well, but it is very loud. The other drawback is the filters are pretty expensive as well. We now have it on at night because we can't hear the TV if it is on during the day.

Some people may be put off by the large size, but smaller units are just not that effective. Since it circulates air very effectively, it can create a fan like effect, which may feel like a draft in colder areas. If you have allergies, this unit is very effective at eliminating air particulates that can cause irritation. Ease of Maintenance Cleaning or replacing the filter or pre-filter on this purifier is easy. Dust/Allergen Removal The air purifier has a HEPA filter, so it one of the best available. Filter Availability Filter replacements are readily available online, on sites such as Amazon.com, but may be harder to locate locally. Durability So far, so good, but we have only had the unit for about 2 months so far. It does run virtually all the time though, and has had no issues as of yet. Effectiveness When run continuously, the air is noticeably fresher and dust and particle free. Design Some people have complained about the indicator light bothering them, especially if it is in a bedroom at night. But turning the unit away or covering the light eliminates this problem. The unit is fairly loud on the high (more effective) setting, but it is white noise, so it does not interfere with sleep.

My husband purchased the Honeywell HEPA Air Purifier quite some time ago, now, and it is still kicking! He had gotten it to help me out with my allergies and his asthma when he started buying parakeets to make his own flock. It is NOT loud, but you do hear some noise in the background; white noise tends to help us sleep, so this is perfect. We breathe better and amazed at how much it sucks up from the air. Cleaning it out is sort of fun when you see what COULD have been in your lungs. Ease of Maintenance It is easy to take apart, and a shop vac makes cleaning the filter off a breeze. Just be sure to clean it outside of your home. Keep the junk outside! Dust/Allergen Removal It doesn't just suck up dust and allergens, but it even sucks up parakeet down feathers! They create quite a bit of dust themselves, including seed husks everywhere, and the filter, when placed closer to their cage, takes care of a great deal of it. Very impressed! Filter Availability Filters are hard to come by around here, but the filter we have is cleaned regularly and hasn't needed to be changed, Just wish I would be able to find one in a store around here to have a back-up just in case it tears while cleaning it. Durability This HEPA filter has been through a lot of dust sucking and allergen abuse. It's still strong enough to keep pulling everything out of the air and making it better to breathe. Love it! Love it! LOVE IT! Effectiveness It's extremely effective in what it is supposed to do and more. It keeps the air cleaner in a decent sized room (115 sq foot approximately) with 15 parakeets and a sun conure. We couldn't have hoped for anything better. Design I adore the design! With it being round, I can put it under a round table in the center of the room or just keep it in the center when possible. It just seems right for it to be circular: all the dust AROUND the room meets in the center where it is held until further notice!

I have found this unit effective too a degree. If you have it on top of something higher up off of the floor it works much better. It does not seem too draw air down too the unit as well as up too it. So if you have a smoker in the home it isn't as good at clearing the air. It still is far better than nothing but not as effective as I would have hoped. As far as allergens, I have noticed a marked difference especially when I wake in the morings. My sinuses are clearer and less congested Ease of Maintenance It is fairly easy too service and clean, and only requires occasional care. I feel like I'm breathing in hawaii all the time, and I live in CLEVELAND! CLEVELAND! Do you know how bad the air is in CLEVELAND? It's like breathing farts! Just got one of these Honeywell air purifiers from my brother-in-law. He and his wife have used one for a couple years now and claim it has improved their health dramatically. We've had ours now for about a month and here's what I've noticed. First, our air is definitely cleaner. There are no odors and it seems more refreshing. Second, the purifier is really loud. But that's fine because we use it in our bedroom and I like the background noise. Just know, it's more than just a low hum. Lastly, I haven't been sick since getting it. Could be coincidental. My wife has been sick, so it's hard to say if this improves your health. But it definitely improves your air. Durability Because it has such a simple design, it's built to last.

Honeywell Enviracaire HEPA Air Purifier is great for those worried about what might be in the air. It's silent and seems to work great. It has a good price. It tells you when the filter needs to be changed so you don't have to worry. The filters are easily removalable. Would recommend to anyone.

I was on the fence about this product, but I'm very happy I purchased it. Do yourself a favor a buy this product if you do - you will be doing your health a tremendous favor. The cost of an air purifier isn't usually cheap, but in time, it'll pay for itself, as in my experience, I've had to take less allergy medication while I use it. I used to have a ton of allergic reactions, and just simply breathing the air in my house became a sort of task. It is very quiet and you can sit it in an area out of the way so that it doesn't get in the way and tripped over. You occasionally have to replace the filters to ensure that the purifier continues to purify air, but it is relatively simple and not very expensive. It's quite easy to use, have a filter in, plug it in to a wall socket, and turn on the power, so you don't have to worry about complex instructions.

I purchased this to replace an old, cheaply constructed model by Duracraft, which is so low-end apparently it does not even have an entry on Viewpoints. Honeywell lasts longer than the old Duracraft purifier, though the benefits less dramatic than a longer functional life. Both models take up lots of space - a problem in an already crowded and cramped bedroom. the spongey filter is easy to clean but leaves your model out of commission, when too much clogging require wet cleaning and ample drying time. The noise is negligiable for first four to five months, but gets noticeably loud to affect quieter, sleeping time if it is left on continuously without a rest or break for the motor. As for improving overall air quality, I find it acceptable as long as the rest of room is regularly vacuumed to reduce dust and mite. Dust/Allergen Removal Best allergen removal up to first 2 years. Thereafter I can't say I notice any difference!
