Living in an area that has a lot of pollen issues, and adding to it the three cats that we have in the house, having an air purifier in the house is just about a requirement.  In fact, we have two in the house right now, with one being the Honeywell 50250 Air Purifier.  The Honeywell does a great job at cleaning up the air with very little fuss, and it has the ability to really improve the air quality for your house and those that live in it.  In fact, the Honeywell 50250 has a filter that removes 99.7% of all particles in the air that come through it.  You want to talk about cleaning up the air; being able to remove that high a number of particles consisting of bacteria and germs, and you are potentially talking about saving yourself or your family from a number of colds during the year.  It's a pretty good starting point when thinking about getting an air purifier, but the benefits of this Honeywell don't stop there.

The Honeywell is very easy to set up when you pop it out of the box, with a simple check to make sure that the filter is hooked up correctly, and a wide area to place the air purifier, you are ready to plug it in.  They advertise that the purifier can be used to clean up the air in very large areas, and we have it set up in our great room in order to get the biggest benefit from it.  This is the area where our cats spend the most time, so a lot of the cat hair and dander is cleaned out of the air through the Honeywell.  This is a really good thing, because it can enable someone with pet allergies to live in the house when you have a machine like this working, because it takes many of the different allergens right out of the air.  It is advertised to work on removing smells from tobacco smoke, cooking, pets and plants.  When the HEPA filter or Pre filter requires changing or cleaning, the device has a warning light to let you know it is time.

One of the best features of this Honeywell Air Purifier, is that it has a patented 360-degree air intake and discharge for purifying those large rooms and areas of your home.  This means that when you put it in the center of your room, it is taking air from the four corners at an equal rate, and sending it back out into all of the areas as well.  The Honeywell 50250 Air Purifier also has 3 speeds with which it operates, and a monitor that lets you know when it is time to change the filter.  It runs on basic electricity, so plugging it into the wall will get you the necessary power to run it on even the highest of speeds.  When it comes time to actually clean the device, that is an easy process as well, denoted in the instruction manual to help you finish it in just a few quick steps.  Using this Honeywell is simply a breeze, and the device does just about everything for the user, rather than making them try to figure out an in-depth process.

The Honeywell 50250 Air Purifier is one of those air cleaners that is not only worth the price, but it does the job so well, that you start to take it for granted after a few weeks of use.  It weighs about 20 pounds, so it isn't something you will want to move all that often, but not too heavy as to dissuade you if you so choose.  It should always be placed on the floor, as there is a slight vibration to the device when you are using it, so you don't want it on a surface that will tip over if moved too often.  On its highest setting, you will surely notice the sound, so it isn't something you want to run at full-throttle in a room where you are sleeping, but it works great in any size room of your house.  It could serve as nice white-noise though, if you live in a bustling city.  Outside of that little negative facet, this is really the perfect device for any pet owner or sufferer of allergies, and I highly recommend giving the Honeywell 50250 Air Purifier a look if you are in the market.

It seemed to work fine with just a duster used to clean it out, and it has about an average amount of noise while in use.

You mention cleaning of the unit when the light goes on, but do not mention what or how you actually clean it. I had a unit before that was a real problem to clean and was suggested not to use in rooms with candles and that was a huge problem with the unit. I returned it to the manufacturer due to the cleaning difficulties.Any comments on the actual cleaning of the unit/filter?
