Honda Pilot - 2008 —

This is my third SUV.  My first was a '96 Blazer....bad news!  My second was a '98 Mercury Mountaineer....loved it (and still own it)!!  So I was a bit apprehensive about moving to a Honda, but I'm totally satisfied with my decision.  It has a smoother ride due to its unibody suspension and more traditional car tires (vs. knobby truck tires).  It is noticeably larger both inside and out.  I believe the wider track (by 8 inches) makes for better stability and a smoother, more car-like ride.  The interior cargo area will handle 4-foot wide materials something I haven't seen since the days of the large station wagons.  Some assessories are easily added by a DIY-type individual (side steps, luggage rack crossbars, etc.) thus saving the buyer some money.  All and all after one month and a thousand miles I am very satisfied with the Honda Pilot.  My first 600 mile long highway trip resulted in 23-24 mpg!!  Not bad for a SUV.
