After driving a Nissan Pathfinder for ten years I was in the market for a new car.  I did not like the new model of Pathfinder so I set out to find an SUV that would provide stability on the road in ice and snow.  I test drove a number of vehicles and settled on the Honda Pilot. The Pilot has handled extremely well on the hilly roads of Southeastern Ohio.  Highway driving is a dream and for an SUV it is obtaining what I would consider excellent gas mileage.  When the first snow of season hit I was concerned about the Pilot's ability to remain stable on the icy roads.  I was overjoyed with the ability of the SUV on the road.  It was stable and handled like a dream. I have two complaints however, first the center console has a lot of what I consider to be useless space.  The center console has a sliding top to close off some of the space but that also takes the cup holders away.  The second comment would be that although the SUV is reported to seat  eight, the third row of seats is very uncomfortable for adults.  Even with those two complaints I would recommend this SUV to all of my friends
