I've owned my 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid now for 3 years.  It's been completely reliable with absolutely zero down time.  I've had it in to the dealer once for a PCM update.  I've replaced the tires and had a four-wheel alignment done.  Other than that I just change oil every 4,000 miles (AMSOIL 5W20) and pour in gas every two weeks.  I average 42 mpg in the summer when the AC is constantly running.  In the winter I get 48-51 mpg depending on traffic.  The first couple of months I had the car I was REALLY trying to see what sort of mileage I could get and was able to get 54-55 mpg, but it takes work and patience to achieve those sort of numbers.  Now I floor the thing everywhere I go, run the AC when I want and even turn off the economy mode during the summer so that the AC will continue to run at stop lights, etc.  I can live with mpg numbers in the 40's.  Fuel prices no longer concern me when driving this car.  Power is pretty much non-existent, but I have no problem keeping up with traffic and merging onto freeways.  I thoroughly enjoy my daily commutes, listening to my XM radio and mindlessly traveling with the flow of traffic to and from work.  Great little car.
