Homeschooling our children is very rewarding but it can also be very challenging. I love to read books written by other homeschooling parents for encouragement and tips. Here are three of our favorite homeschool support books.

I think ALL Moms struggle with myths (everyone's house is cleaner than mine) and comparison syndrome (so and so's kid is doing better at such and such) to some extent but I think homeschooling Moms take on an extra dose with our extra responsiblies. The author, Todd Wilson, is a homeschool Dad and host from Familyman Ministries.

What I like about Lies Homeschool Moms Believe:

It helps me gain a clearer perspective and to have reasonable expectations so that I can focus on what is really important.

Vickie Farris is the homeschooling Mom of 10 - yes, 10 children. Her second child, Jayme Farris, who was homeschooled and has taught the first and second grade in the Farris family homeschool co-authored this book.

What I like about A Mom Just Like You:

This book is very encouraging and also has a lot of practical tips. It is a great resource for times when you are feeling overwhelmed. Reading Vicki Farris is like having coffee with a supportive friend.

This one is for Dads. I could not pass up this title!

Help! I am Married to a Homeschooling Mom is also by Todd Harris. This book is a quick read with short chapters. It is full of wisdom, tips and lots of humor.

What I like about Help! I am Married to A Homeschooling Mom:

This book can really lead Dads to be more involved in homeschooling and helps them to see how they can support homeschooling Moms. (O.K. so it's for him, but it is really about me!)

These books would make wonderful Mother's Day Gifts or Father's Day Gifts for homeschooling parents.
