This is a great way to earn points redeemable for gifts. You're sent a barcode scanner and you scan every thing you buy. You can an item, enter how many you've purchased, the price you paid, at the end you enter the total amount spent on that shopping trip. If you shop at store like Jewel, and use their preferred card, then you don't have to enter the prices.
Each week you transmit your data back to AC Nielson, and you earn points, each week, if you transmit. Your point level is determined by how long you've been with them. Right now, I get 225 points for every week that I transmit data.
There are also surveys (very short ones) where you can earn anywhere from 200 to 300 points.
When you're ready to redeem your points for merchandise - they have a great selection. I'm letting my points grow and grow.
If you're interested, go to www.homescan.com and sign up. You may not be automatically selected, but they may put you on the waiting list based on your demographic information.
