I bought baby food in jars for a long time, but then it occurred to me...why not make my own? It would probably be most healthy to get raw foods and steam them and blend them up yourself, but I didn't have time to do all that, so I bought canned veggies and put them in my mini food processor with some water and blended them until they were baby food consistency. Then I put them into individual small containers and kept a few out but put the rest in the freezer. The things my baby liked the best were sweet potatoes and SPAM turkey. I know that sounds gross, but SPAM turkey is actually pretty good. Tastes just like the baby food. LOL  But anything works-green beans, peas, whatever. And you can make your own blends. Saves lots of money. People who are worried about preservatives probably wouldn't go this route though.
