I've had the earlier model of this massage cushion for about a year and recently received this newer model. Over the years, I've tried every kind of massage cushion for my aching back and the Homedics shaitsu cushions are the only ones that really help. Some of the others may feel good but do nothing to get rid of the pain. After 15 minutes or a half hour on the Homedics shiatsu cushions, I feel human again.
The addition of heat to this model is a real plus. This one has four roller heads vs. two in my other one. I don't see this as adding anything. The massage actually feels slightly less firm than in the two-roller model. And the rolling function is pretty useless for me. These might be a better option for anyone who finds the shiatsu too much at first.
Like the other model, the rollers don't come up high enough on my back and I'm only 5'6". A tall man would find this even shorter, I would imagine. The rollers stop at the lower end of my shoulder blades. I would really appreciate being able to work the muscles in the upper area of my back.
But these are minor details compared to the aid this gives to my back pain. I can only say if you have a bad back, try this massage cushion and you'll wonder how you ever lived without it.
