I got one of these for my in-laws, and one for my parents. Neither of them are tech-savvy, but both enjoy their Apple TVs very much. They don't use their Apple TV to watch movies, podcasts or listen to music. Instead, they both use it to watch their vast libraries of digital (or scanned) photos on their TV. My in-laws have a large iPhoto library and my parents have a large directory structure on their hard drive with photos. Both work well when watching the photos. I have a 30MB iPod that after 2 years didn't really hold a charge anymore. This docking station was a great answer. I leave my iPod in there and it runs flawlessly. I did get a nano for the road too... and swap them out when I need to charge it. After getting a new plasma TV, an HD digital terminal, dvd, vcr, video game consoles it started to get very cluttered with all of the remotes. I began with the Harmony 659 which was ok. I upgraded to the 880 and it's been simply awesome. I had one issue with configuring the favorite channels but since the configuration is online, I just sent an email to Harmony support and they fixed the configuration for me on their end and simply told me to update the remote with the new settings and everything was fixed! An awesome remote that can control practically anything. I have a TV, HD-DVD player, Xbox 360, Wii, Ps3, and an HDMI switch all hooked up to this remote and it works perfectly. The wii and ps3 are both bluetooth so you cannot control it with this remote but you can set everything up for those devices to work, you just have to turn the systems on with your controllers. The Logitech Harmony One Remote is an absolute must have! I really don't know how we functioned without it. My teenage son thinks I am the coolest Mom for getting the Logitech Harmony One Remote. We went from 5 remotes to one, sleek and sexy remote. We even installed family pictures on the it. Perhaps I am alone in expecting to get what you pay for (although i got mine free) but I really wasnt impressed. You can get quality universal remotes for MUCH cheaper and still downsize to one remote. Especially if you have (in my opinion) 3 or less remotes. The price seems to be geared more towards people who have infrared EVERYTHING. We have had this remote for about a month now and it is fabulous! Unlike other universal remotes we have used before - this one set up easily and actually worked with almost all of our electronic. It worked with the tv, cable box, sound system, xbox (including media center). However it does not work with the PS3. Ok, we bought the HDTV, Blue Ray, DVR, and game system. We have the remotes for the television, cable/dvr, blue ray, dvd player. I tried going with the "universal" remote that came with the cable box, but, was constantly having to teach the wife & daughter how to use this remote. I had no problems using it, however, I do admit it was not the easiest remote to use. So, I started searching for a better universal remote and discovered remote utopia in the Logitech Harmony 880. I have been using this remote for about 1 month. It is great. The programming is straight forward, you do have to read the onscreen comands and make sure you understand them. Hoeever, if you make a mistake it is easy to correct. — The cradle charger works very well. I keep it next to my favorite chair. It does need to be within 3 feet of a plug. This remote can consolidate all your others into one. Yes it controls virtually anything that is IR controlled. I have heard it does fans and AC units, even car stereos. What can you say....it's a Bose system, and they're the best at what they do. As it's only a 2.1 system, the sound, presence, and clarity are overwhelming for the sheer minuscule size of the system. Without having to run wires around the room, it offers theater type sound without the clutter.
