The exercise room in my apartment complex has a surprisingly good set of free weights: Cap Rubber Coated Hex Dumbbells. What is so special about this set? In a nutshell they are a very high-quality item!

The Cap Rubber Coated Hex Dumbbells are made of cast iron, which means they are extremely durable. The cast iron handles do not rust or wear. These dumbbells also have knurled handles (those little ridges and indentations) which allow for better gripping ability.

Keys Fitness STD Dumbbells

Don't be a dumbbell when using free weights

I have some free weights around the house that I use to do light weight lifting from time to time. Currently I use Keys Fitness STD Dumbbells, which are sold either in a set of 10, 12, 15, 25, and 30 pounds dumbbells or sold individually. Mine are black, but they are also sold in a variety of colors, such as green, pink, light blue, purple, and orange.
