If you have a toddler, you already know that the days of "quiet dining" are a thing of the past. If you do manage to load up the car and make it into the restaurant, the crayons and menus they give your kids last approximately 2.2 minutes before they're lying on the ground under someone else's booth!
I'm always on the look-out for unique dining options, something easy to clean, easy to pack, and even easier to take with us when we leave.
The Eat-N-Play Activity Cooler has been a great alternative to traditionally "boring" dining. This cooler/play set is made by Home Grown Kids and it's an excellent combination of a lunch bag, cooler, tote, and an entertaining play mat. The play mat unzips from the side of the bag, folds flat, then suctions to the table. This also gives your child a clean place to eat! Our Eat-N-Play Activity Cooler has provided countless hours of fun & adventures while waiting to eat.
The fold out play mat comes in the following styles & themes: My Town, Alphabet Soup (ABC-123's), Zoo Time, and Garden Party. Ours is the Zoo theme. The zoo mat features three small toys; a zookeeper, a jeep, and a monkey. All of the toys are secured to the mat and are easily manipulated on the straps, or unsnapped for playing. We usually leave them snapped, otherwise we'd populate our favorite restaurants with the toys we'd leave behind. Another great thing about this mat is it can be colored on with crayons and it wipes completely clean!
Eat-N-Play Saves the Day!
The Eat-N-Play is made from black microfiber-like material and has two external side pockets, perfect for bottles or sippy cups. The inside of the bag has three expandable pockets for storing meals or snacks. The bag is insulated, has an adjustable carrying strap, and a clip (on the outside) for securing your keys.
We've enjoyed our play mat and we LOVE taking it with us on picnics or to the beach! It's a great "all-in-one" option that enables us to get some much needed peace. My only suggestion is to keep it out of the play room, that way it's always a "special treat" when you take it to a restaurant to eat!
