We have a garden every year.  Have a huge crop of asparugus and also rhubarb that come up every year.  I freeze them for the winter months.  We plant red potatos (till using last years crop stored in basement), onions, lettuce, carrots, radishes, green beans, sweet corn, tomatoes, jalapenos, hot banana peppers,and of course pumpkins for those jack-o-laterns for the Grandchildren.  It is a lot of work but it can also be fun when the whole family does it together.
