I'm in the market for a stand mixer.I love to make homemade bread.I want a good one but not the price I keep coming up with.I'm looking from $250-350 and I have read at least 800 watts for the motor. What is a good one.I have been on lots of blogs and one will tell you this one is real bad and then another one says that's the best.I'm going crazy looking.Been looking for days on this computer.
I may be biased but I have a Kitchen Aid and everyone in my family has Kitchen Aid and we all love them. In fact, I have my brother's MIL's old Kitchen Aid that she gave me when she got a brand new one. It's probably a few decades old and still works like a charm. I love it!
This is the time of year I wish I had a stand mixer. In the cooler weather I do a lot of baking. A stand mixer would be easier for the stiffer doughs. I'm very interested in reading what people will suggest on this board.
I love my KitchenAid but I don't remember if it has 800 watts of power. I don't do much baking with it. In fact, the closest thing that I get to baking is making pizza dough each Friday night with it.
If you want something that is going to last and last...I agree KitchenAid is the best you will buy. It's tough and to tell you how tough, My Grand mother had one, it was passed down to my mom and my parents bought me my own when I got married. They are all still working. We are all bakers, many cookies, cheese cakes, mashed potatoes, birthday cakes, the family Kringles and breads have been made or beaten in our KitchenAid.
I wanted a red one, but I have a white one, but it's all good...go for red :) teehee
I actually use my grandmother's KitchenAid from the mid-1990s. It sure looks beat-up, but it works just fine. I'm sure she's looking down from heaven scourning the fact that I would make cake from a boxed mix though! ;-) My mother JUST got rid of hers after decades of using it!
If you can hold of a little bit, try Black Friday. Sometimes they have some nice deals on Stand Mixers.
