Can anyone direct me to some sort of product that I can wear on my hands instead of gloves while i'm gardening? I hate wearing gloves, but my skin breaks out if I use my bare hands. Any help would be greatly appreciated?

What kind of gloves are you using?  Do you hate all types of gloves?  I prefer nylon type gloves over cloth ones because they can get wet without seeping through to my hand.  Other than some kind of glove, I can't think of anything else you could use.

When i was on vacation with my family in Destin a couple of weeks ago I met the owner of a company called gardeners armor. He turned me on to his product which he reffered to as a barrier cream, and said i could use if for anything. I didn't really think much of it, but when I got home I tried it out and it actually worked really well. Made cleaning off pretty easy and actualy made my skin feel softer altogether. I believe the site is gardenersarmor.com . Hope this helps.

I don't know if they still have it, but Avon used to sell a product, I think it was called "Silicon Glove" or something like that. I have sensitive skin and I had no reactions. I was silk screening and staining furniture and gardening at the time. It worked great.

You could also check Martha Stewart's website for ideas too.

I forgot to ask you - did you check with a dermatologist about your hands? I'm wondering if it was the soil, the plants or chemicals that caused your hands to break out.

Hope you find something that works well for you!

Thank you so much for suggesting this product. I ordered some off of their site just to try it, and to my suprise, it actually worked! I didn't break out or have any reactions. Back to the garden!

I love gardening but having trouble finding good durable gloves. One day of weeding and the fingertips develope holes big enough for my nails to pop out. I keep my nails short, so that isn't the problem. Have even bought the more pricey gloves and the same thing happens.  Any suggestions?
