Need a great pair of gardening gloves or a great idea to prevent your hands suffering from the effects of dirt or a Wonderful Gift for a Gardening Mom or Friend, I found them for you! I have 2 solutions to offer. May you and yours enjoy gardening again as much as I am now able.

I have  just purchased really nice GARDENING GLOVES  at Thompson and Morgan seeds. At the site, you'll find them located at the site on the left hand side located under Mother's Day Gifts, I received their catalog offering $10 off of $10 or less excluding shipping. But anyway the gloves are like $7.99 and are made by Atlas they come in pretty colors and say they are tough but let hands breathe. Here is their complete desciption of them:

Tougher than rubber, the nitrile coating protects your palms and fingertips, while the soft seamless nylon material lets your hands breathe. Ultra thin, allowing you to feel what you're doing, even picking up individual seeds!

Sure-gripping, unique and flexible. Tried and true favorites of both professional and home gardeners. They are machine-washable and quick to dry. Generously sized, so order smaller than your normal fit - they fit like a second skin.

I developed RA and couldn' t garden due to not being able to find a glove that I as able to work with. I hated the old garden gloves I couldn't even feel what I was doing and with gardening that is like not being able to see what you are doing.

One day, some years back I was talking all things gardening with my neighbor who was in Love with my plants, She even went so far as to say that my garden were the deciding factor in chosing the particular house next door to mine because she could look out the window above her sink and admire alot of my flowers while she did her dishes which she said really made the time go by fast. Flattery got her everywhere and my generosity in turn helped us both out. I gave her what I could in the Spring when I was dividing my Huge hostas we are talking the 24" leaf varieties.

As I was working, she said where's you're gloves? I explained my situationto her.  She tells me to hold on and there to my surprise she was a nurse.  She said hold on and ran in her house and brought me out a box of nice, good quality disposable gloves. What a God send, I couldn't Thank her enough although she knew better than  to Thank me for the plants. Old wives tell or not if she would have I would have quit right there and then.We laughed about it later. When she started the conversation, the plants are awesome, I did give her lots of huge Hosta division's that she did try offering me money for. Money was nothing compared to how she changed my life that day with those gloves. They were much more valuable to me than any money. I knew how to get around the flare ups that used to go hand in hand with my gardening.

We unfortunately moved 2 hours away and I soon ran out of gloves. I didn't dare even try to garden for one whole year. I thought I'd go crazy with my Honey's can you do this, Honey will you do that. I'm the type who likes to do it myself and then move on to my next task or project.

I couldn't garden without having to to use the disposible gloves and we couldn't find them anywhere in our new location. When we did I bought 2 boxes and then after that  I'd buy a box every Spring whether I had some left from last year or not, but if you are allergic to latex, I think the latex free ones are much more expensive and harder to find. Actually, I imagine you'd have to go to a medical supply store for those or check eBay after pricing them at the medical supply store near you, all it would take is a phone call so you know where to buy should you find them online, just don't forget to take in the cost of shipping that's where they get you.

I am no way affiliated with Thompson and Morgan seeds, but just had to let evryone in on a great pair of gardening gloves.  they are wonderful and as described!.

I imagine catalog or not you could probably find the $10off $10 code at funtasia's web site or one like it. So with that you just actually pay shipping which was like $5 something anyway if I remember correctly.

If you have a nice nursery and gardening supply store nearby, I imagine you'd probably find them there, they are that nice.

Since I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and love to garden but can not without gloves, something in the soil causes a flare up everytime, just as bad as cleaning products with chemicals which will be my next post. I actually found a green cleaning product that works and for a quick clean up I don't have to run for my cleaning gloves.

Anyway, I couldn't stand regular gardening gloves they just didn't work for me because I was unable to feel what I was working with.  That is why I loved the disposable gloves. Before I found them by the boxes at I believe a Big Lots store, Before that my Doctor used to give me a couple of nice handfuls to take home with me rather than see me have to give up gardening or suffer through the flare ups of my hands which he witnessed. They would turn bright red and swell up like what looks like a disposable glove blown up like a balloon and the pain was unbelieveable and my hands were naturally rendered useless.

These Atlas gloves from Thompson and Morgan are wonderful. They probably sell them elsewhere, like I said at a nicer nurseysupply store, garden shop, or some place like that. Maybe be chance Low'es caries them, I don't know but I wouldn't doubt it but I would almost bet if they did they are sold out already. if you don' want to purchase from tmseeds but want to find them elsewhere online, then do a search for Atlas Gardening Gloves or maybe even check out eBay. Anyway, with my condition or if you suffer from the same or from a soil borne reaction or just need a good garden glove, these are the way to go. They feel like a permanent disposable glove to me, the way you can actually feel even fine seedsthrough them. Unreal. The price is right and I won't have to worry about running out of disposables anymore. They are more comfortable and easier to put on then disposables too.

I hope this was useful to someone out there. Especially if you suffer from RA, may you too once again enjoy gardening which ever way you choose to go.
