Hello- DId you find what you were looking for?

want quality, not rich, a do-it-yourselfer, like good service

I hear the same thing every time I walk into our Home Depot "Hello Did you find what you were looking for" So many in fact it gets to be repetitive sometimes. It is refreshing as opposed to their biggest competitor though, you know the big "L".

The Service

Sometimes when I need help their is no one in the department I am in, but a short walk to a main isle always brings an able bodied person. If they are not from that department or not familiar with the product they call someone to help me. Most times the wait is very short and if not the person tries to help anyway. I appreciate that as I go there for a lot of projects I do around the house.

I have had them go out of their way to help me at times as well. Once I was looking for fence boards and one guy stayed with me the whole time helping me with my measurements and counting the boards as I went along. He even reminded me about screws and showed me the selection and helped me pick the right screw for my project.

When I was ready to check out he saw me struggling with the cart (I have 2 bad knees) so he helped push it to the register and then out too my truck and helped me load it as well. At the big "L" the only time that happened was when I got some topsoil and they wanted to make sure I didn't take an extra bag! Any other time when I was inside the store they could care less.

Bottom Line

I guess each store is different but the ones I have been too here in Kansas have all been the same. Warm and friendly service and a willingness to help customers. There are 4 around me within an easy commute and all of them have excellent people working there. Needless to say I use Home Depot 95% of the time, I only go to the big"L" when Home Depot doesn't have it or is out of what I need at the time.
