I hear the same thing every time I walk into our Home Depot "Hello Did you find what you were looking for" So many in fact it gets to be repetitive sometimes. It is refreshing as opposed to their biggest competitor though, you know the big "L". — — The Service — —… read full review »

At the beginning of July we went to Home Depot to buy laminate flooring for our kitchen. Having installed laminate throughout our home, we were going to install the kitchen floor as well. We found a product we liked at Home Depot, paid them cash (our first mistake), and it was supposed to come in… read full review »

Before deciding on Silestone Countertops I went back and forthe between Corian, the new laminate from Lowes(I have forgotten the name of it)  and Silestone.  I decided to go with silestone because one of Home Depot's selling points was that all of their products have hight customer ratings and they do not put anything in their store that does not have a high rating.  I am trying to figure out now where they get their reviews from because their craftmanship and service was awful.  First of all it took 2 months to get my countertops installed, the lady handling my… read full review »

When I goto Lowe's I am welcomed buy every emplohyee & the Management.  Toded, the Manager even escorts me to departments to assist with getting me what I need but have no idea what it is called or who makes it.  Every item he has given me work, does te best, and husband is amazed that I can buy stuff. — Last year my husband bought me a MTD/Troy Built snow blower that is power driven since I cannot push it with my broken neck, and the first time I use it it blows its engine.  Obvious not a new unit sold to us for $600 at Brooklyn Tractor in Cleveland OH.  So we phone… read full review »

We have been remodeling a 1800's farmhouse. — For the last year we have focused on the gigantic kitchen. — We are doing everything ourselves.  We have found Home Depot's Staff to be rude and their company policies to penalize the do-it-yourselfers. — For example, you can't order or even get a cost estimate for cabinets or counter tops without having them come out and measure! Or course there is a large fee for this "service". Apparently, Home Depot feels that the consumer isn't capable of reading a tape measure. — Needless to say we didn't buy from them. —… read full review »

We had a huge remodeling job on our hands and were approved for a high credit limit at the Home Deopt so we did all of our shopping there. What a mistake!! There was  NO customer service and if someone didi help us the had no idea how to answer our questions. For example, we order the materials for a deck with the help of a "Deck Designer". When the materials arrived shorted us almost a quater of the lumber we needed and no deck spindles!… read full review »

Ok, I have been boycotting Home Depot for more than three years now because of the following story: On a Sunday night mid-winter (cold and snowy), we had a plumber at our house doing some work. He didn't have a part to fix (both) of our toilets so I went out to get one. I first drove past Lowe's which was listed as being closed (time sign). So I figured I would try Home Depot. I went to the exit doors and begged the manager to let me come in to buy the one part that would allow both toilets to work otherwise we would be without toilets. He said that all of the registers were closed even… read full review »

Home depot is the last place i would go to shop.  They advertise about matching paint colors, and they do an ok job, but lowes and walmart do just as good and they do it faster and will actually look at you when taking your order.  I have worked in Home improvement stores before, including this one.  I'll never go back to depot.  The only really good thing i can say about them is that it is a great place for young people to meet, bc they hire a bunch of young people to work everything (and of course the young ones generally don't care about work much).  The problem… read full review »

Home Depot may have good items and even good prices, but they have NO customer service.  Women especially - beware if you're going to pick something up by yourself.  No one will help you!  I've had the same experience at 2 or 3 stores in my area.  My daughter has loaded bags of cement while male workers stood by, laughing and talking.  My husband and I tried loading some boards by ourselves & were struggling, but no one stopped to help until my husband dropped a board on my foot!  Recently, my pregnant daughter went to get some things for remodeling they were… read full review »

I was looking for a ice maker filter...I could not locate it on my own.  The female clerk in the kitchen dept. did three things. —           She looked herself for a match. —            Consulted with another asssociate for help. —           Called a toll free number on my old filter and asked for a local vendor. —       She then helped me with… read full review »

When we did a complete remodel on our kitchen, we has Home Depot resurface our cupboards. The representative came to our home and was very helpful, not at all pushy. However, when the contractorsthat Home Depot used came and did the work, one of the guys in particular did VERY sloppy work. We had to keep pointing out things that were crooked, and after looking more closely to the work, we found even more shabby workmanship. The two workers had to come back twice after they had completed the job to fix, and or replace veneer and crown molding. In several places, for instance, the one guy… read full review »

Home Depot has the greatest selection of plants that are healthy i have ever seen...even better than most privet nurseries out in my area....if by any chance a plant doesnt bloom the following year just bring them your reicept and the dead plant and they will replace it for free....now as far as fruit trees ...they have great root systems so they plant easy and grow great...i did have one tree die and they ex-plained to me what i did wrong and taught me the right way to care for the tree...it is very strong and healthy....my vegitable plants that i have gotten from them have always… read full review »

Over the past 5 years this company has become too big for their britches!  Left and Right, everything we bought there was falling apart.  Then when you take it back to replace it, they say, "Oh, I'm sorry New Policy, We have to send it off to get fixed."  Then they say it was looked at and cost this much to replace and its not covered.  Yet when you look at the paperwork that came with the item it said it was.  — More and More like other chains unfortunately, like Wal-Mart.  Everyone needs to step up and see the bigger picture...Your paying cheaper,… read full review »

I love the Home Depot.  This store always gives me so many ideas for improvement to my home or garden.  The staff is usually friendly and very helpful.  I know that if it is something that I need for my home, I can probably find it at Home Depot.  They have such a large selection. Though, sometimes that can be overwhelming.  It is a huge store.  And sometimes you can get "lost" in there.  The prices are a little high though, for such a large store, you would think there may be some type of bulk discount they get that they could pass on to customers.… read full review »

We had an emergency washing machine need.  Our old washing machine broke down and the repair was going to be as expensive as purchasing a new machine.  The employee at Home Depot was very knowledgable about all the washing machines and dryers in his section.  He took his time explaining the benefits and drawbacks of each model.  He also explained which units were on clearance or on sale.  We ended up purchasing a stackable unit from them and have been very happy.  I would recommend Home Depot over any other "Do It Yourself" type… read full review »
